The United States has determined, for many years, that the supply controlling marketing boards, specifically dairy, are a trade irritant. The US is not the only one. The EU has said pretty much the same. I believe we are the only country left with them.
The state of Wisconsin voted for Trump. How may Canadian dairy farmers did? If the US wants to make this a big deal, then guess what? It’s a big deal! How many on here want to see their livelihoods destroyed so multi-millionaires with quota can continue to stick it to Canadian consumers? If the US subsidizes their dairy farmers to the tune of 73% and I can get cheaper milk and cheese, and I don’t have to look for the “Frozen Desert” for the fake Ice Cream that has to be sold, I am failing to see a problem.
