Well, that didn’t last long…

So much for Canada becoming an “energy superpower.” With additional pipelines to the west coast, the idea is dead in its tracks. Eby says he won’t be changing mind on another B.C. pipeline, rebuffing Ford

But but but – everyone was so happy about their confab with the new prime minister.

Premiers heap praise on meeting with Carney, but no specific projects identified.

And from the day before the meeting:

Carney discusses “partnerships” with oil and gas executives in Calgary

So much for team Canada. On CJME Tuesday morning Premier Moe said he was “done” with trying to get a pipeline built through Quebec.

And for something completely different:

You can’t hide these smiles. Lock and load

There’s more to the oilpatch than just work. You can’t hide these smiles. Lock and load

  1. It’s confirming of what confederation is. The west feeds their wealth to eastern Canada and they give us lip service, enough to try to kneecap the separation movement, but never enough to meet a standard of fairness and equality between provinces.

Which should be fine, it is what I expect. When the separation referendum is in full swing we should expect the lies to flow westward as the mighty St. Lawrence does filled with pollutants and minimally treated waste from Montreal and the “great” lakes.

Alberta and Saskatchewan can become an energy superpower, Canada isn’t a serious country, maybe they’ll be like France someday, but with more grift.

*Genuine shotgun smiles, probs more than once a year would be good..

  2. Maybe Alberta should tell Eby that no more rail traffic will come through Alberta to or from BC without paying an “environmental” fee of say $100 per railcar.Maybe $1000?

    1. You don’t play hardball at $100/railcar,,, start at a $1,000/railcar, and go from there.
Maybe another $1,000 for passing through Saskatchewan too.

  3. Just registered …

People just seem to ruin a good thing every chance they get.
However, setting up a login is no big deal, many sites require that.

  4. eby &carney are cut from the same slice of shit. I call it ldga’s as in lib-dip-green assholes. I should probably include the blockheads in that as they are all the same.
BC has a ndp gov because there was no opposition in the last election.
    don’t know of a solution.

  5. There isn’t a western red cedar big enough that could fall on Eby hard enough.
    Ford is an idiot.
    Carney is lying to everybody.
I’m not sure if that includes lying to himself, but the bureaucracy in Ottawa is full of Anties.
    Anti-western Canada, anti-oil & gas, anti-white men, anti-conservative, anti-English-speakers, anti-efficiency, anti-democracy…
They’ll go even slower just because.

  6. Former MP Pierre Poilievre:
“Mr. Carney said there would only be a pipeline if there is “consensus.”
BC’s premier says “no” and there is not even consensus in the Liberal cabinet.
So despite grand statements, press conferences and meetings, Liberals have no plan to get one built, leaving us helplessly reliant on the Americans. More “elbows-down” from the Liberals.”

and just as useless, a year from now the federal overseers will be saying, “we tried”

    1. Quebec Dairy? Elbows Up
      Quebec Aluminum? Elbows Up
      Ontario Steel? Elbows Up
      Ontario Automotive? Elbows Up
Western Oil and Gas, Agriculture, Potash, that is actually propping up the economy?….Anyone? Hello? Buehler?

There will be no need for a referendum here, this half witted, useless “country” will be flying apart very shortly

  7. I believe that nothing Carney et al say can be taken as sincere – that they will agree to almost anything Wanalata (Saskatchewan + Alberta) wants, but then act behind the scenes to ensure that nothing ever gets built.

As a result our products (Energy, Food, etc) have to go south now, and maybe eventually north if Manitoba joins in and recaptures control of the Churchill railway right of way.

To make this happen while building leverage toward an eventual re-balancing of the Canadian confederation we could:

1 – ask the Trump administration to reverse the Biden/Trudeau inspired loss of about $16 Billion on Keystone. The mechanism would be that Trump et al roll permitting back to the status quo ante and agree to full reparations due on the day the lines are formally placed in production provided that happens within 18 months of the agreement signing. Alberta than borrows the money on the Toronto/New York markets to finance the companies building it; and,

2 – both provinces borrow every nickel they can on the eastern financial markets to build productive infrastructure – and whether that’s an oil sands plant or an oil seeds plant doesn’t matter much.

What this does is bypasses the process barriers in the provinces east and west of us that Carney et al are counting on to stop Wanalta based development while doing something even more important: taking enough eastern money hostage to offset the federal government’s claims on our CPP monies. Borrow enough, soon enough, and we get stuff built while setting up a simple debt swap they can’t stop.

  8. Brian, Brian, Brian … oil and guns. Could you be more out of step with Ottawa? Yes, I WOULD expect the RCMP at your doorstep to “investigate” your posts.

  9. The Confederation: “Fook Alberta.”

You think Trump had leverage before?

  10. Yes, but they had a meeting. And as we know from the climate cult, meetings are what it’s about: nothing accomplished but always a resounding “success”. Team Canada Premiers’ meeting number (insert number here) coming up.
