The co-founder of ChatGPT maker OpenAI proposed building a doomsday bunker that would house the company’s top researchers in case of a “rapture” triggered by the release of a new form of artificial intelligence that could surpass the cognitive abilities of humans, according to a new book.
Ilya Sutskever, the man credited with being the brains behind ChatGPT, convened a meeting with key scientists at OpenAI in the summer of 2023 during which he said: “Once we all get into the bunker…”
A confused researcher interrupted him. “I’m sorry,” the researcher asked, “the bunker?”
Don’t know anout you guys, but I like the idea of all of them underground. Sure as hell makes ME feel a lot safer.
I don’t know what you are all worried about. Don’t forget that Biden was standing on guard at this time in the summer of 2023 and so you could be certain that the “big guy” would keep us safe from all known and unknown threats!!

Either this is the scam of the century or these people are very smart at computers and very dumb at everything else. I feel it is safer to treat them as grifters, that way you don’t feel so cocky. A sufficient quantity of stupidity has a quality all its own.
I have posted previously, but it is worth repeating – in the early 1980’s, I read an article in Cosmopolitan magazine (Yes, I know, I was a young woman!) which stated that there are various forms of intelligence. They are as follows:
1. Physical (think athletes, dancers, actors) 2. Mathematical 3. Musical 4. Spatial and the ability to connect events (engineers primarily, some architects) 5. Artistic 6. Emotional (think Princess Diana and her empathic abilities) and 7 Words (writers, people who are raconteurs). We all possess these in varying degrees, with a dominance in one or two. Sadly, our western society idolizes physical, musical and emotional intelligences. The people who created AI and ChatGPT are primarily mathematical with very little ability to connect events or have any emotional intelligence. This could be their “undoing”.
Musical and mathematical are the same thing.

Obviously he has never watched an end-of-world movie, because the first thing artificial intelligence does when it becomes sentient, is eliminate its creator. And if they’re all huddled together in a bunker …

As a Christian … I don’t fear the rapture. But the Godless monsters who have unethically made themselves gods best FEAR the illusory power they’ve created for themselves.

Good. In doing so they all become prize winners for the Darwin Awards and thus removing them from the possibility of reproducing themselves.
