You’re welcome: Is there a long German word for regret over rejecting nuclear energy?

Merkel phasing out German nuclear power plants after the Fukushima accident in 2011 was indefensible. Everyone apart from radical environmentalists could see what a terrible decision it was. The consequences were entirely foreseeable.
It will go down as the dumbest German move since von Hindenberg appointed Hitler chancellor.
Robert Bryce:
“Germany, the world’s long-time anti-nuclear poster child, just did a screeching U-turn. Under its new chancellor, Friedrich Merz, Germany will cooperate with France and treat nuclear as a “green” power source under EU regulations. The move comes just 25 months after Germany took its last three nuclear plants offline. As one German official said, the move is a “sea-change policy shift.”
“The announcement from Berlin came just days after Belgium’s federal parliament voted by a large majority to repeal a 2003 law mandating the phase out of nuclear energy and banning the construction of new reactors.
“Last week, the Danish government announced it was reconsidering its ban on nuclear power, which has been in place since 1985. The country’s former prime minister, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, told the Financial Times, “Wind and solar are good as long as you have wind and sunshine. But you have to have a non-fossil base-load and it’s ridiculous to exclude nuclear power.””
This is why I invested in Cameco years ago. People can have all sorts of loony ideas, but freezing in the dark is a wonderful antidote to their delusions.
There have always been idiots in Germany.
In the 80’s, assholes in W. Germany protested the presence of NATO bases.
Letting the Lowest Common Denominators (Idiots, Idealogues or Intellectuals) determine the course of the future is suicide.
Imagine if Doug Ford was a provincial premier…
Aufgewacht – Woketards
Watching a documentary on Three Mile Island.
President Carter new it was a nothing burger.
He didn’t say anything so as to not upset anti-nuclear democrats…………
I’ll stick to the basics – bekloppt. Crazy, stupid. Sums it up.
IMO.. Nuclear was the original cold war propaganda energy boondoggle.. That got pushed aside by the green energy boondoggle.. Any business that writes its own checks is a boondoggle that will never turn a profit..
Im just not sure that energy belongs so far under the government wing.. Do we really need Canada Post keeping the lights on?.. No, we don’t..
