Agreed it’s not possible. Canada has consistently voted for what was portrayed as middle of the road liberals for its entire history.
Middle of the road? What road would that be? The road between Beijing and Shanghai, maybe. Even our slimy blue-tie pinkos (blubber douggie, Kenney, etc.) are left of the centerline on that path.
It isn’t about politics. It is about structure. Canada was designed to be a continental empire with the golden triangle ruling o’er the realms and the realms were to contribute their wealth to the rulers. We had a pretty good PM in Harper but he did nothing to fix the actual problems with Canada. He wanted to take it back to its roots but the roots are the problem.

Conservatives (common-sense, actual right-wing conservatives) might not get elected until the people feel lots of pain and finally see where it’s coming from. Until then, they will keep watching that stupid television and believing what the talking heads tell them to believe. They even condemn “alt-right news” because the TV tells them to, while never actually visiting such a website and doing some reading.

Which Canada? There are several distinct nations that think they are Canada and some of them are stupid enough to think they are the same Canada or share some kind of moral framework. Liberals are the producers of crap and Conservatives are the consumers of that crap.
