  1. Interesting Op-Ed by Preston Manning in the Globe and Mail.

Could it be that Preston is realizing that the only logical and sensible course for the West to have any chance of a future of prosperity, freedom and equality is to divorce itself from the inevitable decline of Canada into a third-world, impoverished dictatorship

Should the Greatest Economist Ever ™ be elected, the choice, which has always been clear to those that having been paying attention, should become apparent to those that have been whistling past the graveyard.
I just wish Preston hadn’t set us back by 30 years with the waste of time and effort the Reform Party was.

    1. Canadians will vote for whichever party gives them cheap dope and the most government freebies.

      1. Our national motto should be “Tortam tuam ut felicitatem” (“Loaf your way to prosperity”).

        Thanks, Trudeau.

    2. Reform was probably a necessary stepping stone to the inevitable demise of Canada.

      Interesting times on the horizon.

    3. Don’t agree, the Federal Progressive Conservatives had to go. There were enough places for Red Tories to go and they were undermining any true Conservative policies.

      1. Agree!!
Mulroney was the reason Manning created Reform.
        “Liberal/Tory…same old story”

      2. “Don’t agree, the Federal Progressive Conservatives had to go. There were enough places for Red Tories to go and they were undermining any true Conservative policies.”

Absolutely. That was the entire reason for the birth of the Reform Party in the first place…many people finally wising up to the fact that whether they voted Liberal or ‘Progressive’ Conservative, they got the exact same policies anyway. Liberal or Liberal Lite, those were your two choices.

    4. Reform did not set us back. It gave voice to all those frustrated with Eastern Canada’s political dominance. Even if the rid not at thisoint change that, they did change political awareness in the country. I think Western Reform continues to impact our politics.

    5. I agree with Manning.

If you want to read an interesting take on why Canada is not a country check out Lawrence Solomon’s piece in today’s National Post, ” Canada an accident still waiting to happen”.

The demise of the country is inevitable. It’s only a matter of time. The election of a majority Carnival government only hasten the end. It will end in a whisper like the demise of the Soviet Union Czechoslovakia etc.

    6. No, it wasn’t a waste of time. We had to try to work within the system first. We have to exhaust those possibilities before the majority is willing to try something different.

      1. “No, it wasn’t a waste of time. We had to try to work within the system first. We have to exhaust those possibilities before the majority is willing to try something different.”

Agreed. That’s why I vote PPC now. The CPC had their chance (more than once) to win my support and my vote, and they chose not to even try to get it. Fine, then; if you don’t want my vote, you won’t get it.

    1. I suspect the bigger part of the number is some measure of “currency manipulation,” likely American BS. The largest component of currency manipulation is, of course, buying US bonds. If the US wants to stop currency manipulation stop selling bonds which the world is so willing to buy, bidding up the price of the $US. Would it be better if the world sold all its US denominated bonds?

  2. Reported side effects of the covid jabs from the WHO:

    https://slaynews.com/news/who-monkeypox-side-effect-covid-mrna-vaccines/

From the article, here is how to access info re monkeypox and many, many more side effects:

The website is a searchable database that doesn’t provide direct links to the information.

However, you can find the information for yourself by following these steps:

    Visit the VigiAccess website
Scroll to the bottom and click “Search database”
    Search for “BioNTech”
In the list of search results, click on “Pfizer BioNTech Covid-19 Vaccine”
Click “Ok” in the Dialog Box that shows up
Under “Reported potential side effects,” click on “Infections and infestations”
Scroll down and continue clicking “Load More” several times until you see “Smallpox (15)”
Continue scrolling and clicking “Load More” several more times until you see “Monkeypox (6)” and “Cow pox (5)”
Please note that the database worked at the time of publishing.

  3. Tamara Lich.

“Tamara Lich, one of the lead organizers of the 2022 Freedom Convoy protest in Ottawa, has been found guilty of mischief for her role in the weeks-long demonstration that challenged COVID-19 mandates and federal overreach.

The verdict was delivered by Justice Heather Perkins-McVey, after a months-long trial that concluded in September 2024. Lich, along with co-accused Chris Barber, had pleaded not guilty to charges including mischief, intimidation, and counselling others to commit offences.”

    1. Why should we have expected anything different? Whatever the Trudeaus wanted, the Trudeaus got. (I said “Trudeaus” because PET was the same way or did you think the Berger Commission about the Mackenzie Valley Pipeline was fair, balanced, and impartial?)
