The current estimate for a new mine is 19 years to get through the assessment process, what company is going to spend untold millions for the possibility of maybe being allowed to open a mine almost 2 decades from now?
And once they start actually working a new mine, it takes almost 10 years before they start pulling ore out of it. So, make it almost 30 years before the mining company can see a return on their investment. Is it any wonder why mining companies are fleeing Canada?
