  1. There seems to be quite a few that are in with the mob.
They never stop to consider the ramifications because they are mesmerized by a hate that isn’t based on reason but on ideology.
They are convinced that Trump is the devil incarnate and no matter what evidence to the contrary they oppose everything he says, again not on reason, because he said it.
The current situation is the most glaring example.
None of “our betters” has attempted to provide the context under which Trump is threatening tariffs. That being that there are issues being ignored or purposely obfuscated to maintain the Canadian narrative. When I say Canadian I mean the one that presupposes Canada = nicest kindest country compared to the USA. This narrative has existed for as long as I can remember and it’s become tiresome.
The issues of which I speak?
Trump wants the integrity of the border to be addressed not just in his country but by both his closest neighbours.
He wants the USA’s so-called allies to stop regarding the US as a convenient coattail to ride when it comes to military capabilities.
He wants the issue of cross border illegal trafficking addressed specifically regarding fentanyl and human trafficking.
Logic and reason dictate that these are issues that a sovereign nation would feel duty bound to confront.
But if our government response is “we are only less than one percent” wrt to fentanyl and “Canada is not for sale” when it comes to maintaining our military capabilities no one should be surprised that Trump brings out the hammer.

    1. Right on. As a dual citizen I have seen Canada go to hell in the past decade. Gutted miitary, loss of freedoms, failed free medical system, rule of an elite based in East and a move into Chinas sphere of influence. Good luck. All that is left is a phony moral superiority

  2. Then you have the Conservatives who are boo-honkers as they try to ride the upcoming election wave.

  3. Honk! It has gotten so bad for me, that for the first time, I am cheering for the US Thursday night. Every humiliation, every demoralizing thing that can happen to this 3rd tier shithole needs to happen. That a country with the world’s most resources per capita and all the natural advantages bequeathed it can fall this far based upon a combination of incompetence, ignorance, an authoritarian bent and population of cowards is stunning. Can you imagine what the Americans would do with this? Not block development, leave it undefended and virtue signal, that is for certain. It would be a powerhouse of energy, agriculture and innovation just like…like…oh yeah the US. Instead we are Europe, minus the history and culture.

  4. I’m definitely not the young Elton John.

You can be proud of your national identity and yet still wish for a massive political shakeup. How about a maple leave with TRUMP over it?

  5. If they had let the Russians play, not only would the quality of the hockey gone up, but the drama and fights could have been great!

Not really, between US and Canada, at the end of the day, we are still brothers fighting. If you bring the Russians into it, it might create hard feelings that would never go away.

  6. Now would be the perfect time to for Alberta to walk away from Canada. In effect we no longer have a federal government due to proroguing of parliament and no way to force them back to work. All it would take is for Alberta (Canada’s cash cow) publicly announce that they are no longer part of Canada as they have no federal representation and are open negotiations with the USA to become that dreaded 51st state that the fear so much. Ideally we will become the 51st state and the what’s left of the federal government will scramble to prevent the rest of Canada from joining us and treat the remaining provinces and territories fairly.
The deep state has to be stopped.

  7. Politics aside. Hockey only. Team USA has gotten cocky before due to an early win but fell to Team Canada when it counted. Thursday should be interesting. I wonder if fans in Boston will be more polite. Hockey is not a polite game.

Living in the US and very pro American, however, it seems that pulling for Team Canada is just bred in the bone, I guess. Could be worse, I suppose, I could be a Leaf fan. LOL

  8. The hockey ticket prices are over $1000.00 a head.
Of the Montreal attendees that were booing the US anthem what percentage of them were fat entitled gubmint “workers” with multiple cars and residences?

Probably not your typical Canadian at all and most likely just Laurentian Elite Liberals with TDS that vote for a living.

    1. “Of the Montreal attendees that were booing the US anthem what percentage of them were fat entitled gubmint “workers” with multiple cars and residences?”

In Quebec? Really? The most corrupt province in confederation (comparatively with BC running neck and neck)?

How could you ask such a question?
