As for more context, what happened in Ro: result of a presidential election was annulled after one week, right when 2nd round was already starting in NZ / Australia. And motive was not election wrongdoing, no. Motive was some alleged misinformation/disinformation in social media during election campaign.
But wait, there’s more: EU boasted after that + said that they will do the same in Germany if result will lean AfD.

Kaja Kallas is making these statements as cover. The EU and the Biden Administration very purposefully moved away from any peace potential over the last few years. In fact, they sabotaged any such efforts openly. The current US Administration knows this to be true and decided to circumvent their interference. Kallas is responding based on ego (a secondary concern, but always present), and their necessity to be directly involved so as to sabotage the peace talks with minutia and draw it out as long as possible.
The EU should be contemplating the real problem they are about to step in (actually, already have). There is going to be an all out campaign to label the US as a bully. It’s a by-product of having settled into an entitlement position at the expense of the US taxpayer. That patronization is starting to trickle to a stop. In order to convince their “great unwashed” to play along and join them in those accusations, they are inadvertently going to be promoting a nationalism within the various countries. Nationalism goes directly against their globalization philosophy. Which will force the EU to resort to nothing more than name calling and whining.
