   Liberal racist media are burying Pierre Polievre, the news homepage of the CBC doesn’t look like a leadership contest for the Liberal racist Party, it looks like a love-in to choose the next prime minister.

   1. The public doesn’t listen to the liberal racist media any more. All of their public viewerships and readerships have been collapsing for decades now. Their influence on voters has never been less than it is now.

      The CBC? No one cares; no one watches them. They are ignoring the fact that Canadians’ hatred of Justatwit has grown so strong that this was the reason he announced he’s quitting. CBC is ignoring the fact that Justatwit is the author of ALL of the divisions among Canadians.

3. I have low expectations for PP – and I think everyone should have low expectations for even good politicians – but his performance here is pretty damned good!

   PP is 100% correct that the Liberal party, both through its energy policy, but also its immigration, criminal prosecution and border policies, not mention their aggressively projecting and re-imagining of Canada as some sort of quasi-socialist, pacifist, virtue-signalling, sneeringly anti-American, anti-Western, woke utopia, have actually invited ALL of Trump’s trolling. And its delicious to watch them react, causing many Canadian who should be smart enough to know better (salutations Premier Dougie!) go off all half-cocked and utter ridiculous statements. Canadian – or a least a certain segment of them – are truly a Ridiculous Little People!

         As a REAL conservative, one of the my core beliefs is that we should expect too much from politics and while I prefer the policies of Mad Max, PP is the best viable alternative we presently have – the ‘perfect’ being the enemy of the ‘good’ – and he certainly sounds – SOUNDS – different from your stock, timid, MSM-prostrating, “don’t-ruffle-any-feathers-or-offend anyone” Montreal-Ottawa-Toronto political consultant class-captured “conservative” candidate, but we shall see. Cautious optimism.

         However, to quote Darth Vader “I find your lack of faith disturbing” and frankly I’m sick of the reflexive, preternatural negativity of putative Canadian conservatives, beaten down as they have been by decades of socialist/atheist Trudeupian, anti-American Euroweeniedom, Anglo-Canadian guilt, and the doctrine of Managed Western Decline.

         I believe Canadian conservatives should take both (1) the spirit of the Freedom Convoy trucker protests – one of the few times in recent years I’ve been proud to be a Canadian – combined with (2) the new mood down south – what I’ve termed “Reagan-Trump Christo-American Triumphalism” – and to project a muscular, expansive, pro-free-speech, pro-free-market, pro-small business, pro-Western, pro-American version of this country which, in addition being misgoverned and mismanaged has been tragically MIS-IMAGINED for far too long (Trump would not be trolling us if what I suggested above had described Canada circa 2022). We need to take it all back.

7. I will say one thing about Poilievre, he is always very well prepared and informed and can answer questions very well unlike Trudeau who answers in platitudes. Whatever your expectations are, he surely must be miles ahead of either likely future Liberal leader.

8. Export tariffs on oil makes no sense.

   Oil is a global commodity. The Americans have no reason to pay more than the going rate for it. If Canada implements an export tariff, the Americans will just offer less for our oil to cover the cost. And if Canadian oil producers refuse to sell at that price, the Americans will buy that oil from a dozen other countries.

   In short, an export tariff is simply a transfer of money from Alberta oil companies to the federal government. The Americans won’t pay a whit more for their oil.

   1. There is already a spread between the price of US oil and Canadian oil due to a lack of shipping options for Canadian Oil.

      West Texas Intermediate is at $78.35
      Western Canada Select is at $64.60.

      FedGov is just announcing they want to make the spread worse.

10. Canadian are their own worst enemies. Ignorantly self destructive, as in they have no idea how their petty regional jealousies create an underperforming, weak economy. It is more important for voters in central and eastern Canada to punish Alberta/Sask than to let the Canadian economy thrive. Destroy the natural resource advantage in Canada and try to rely on real estate and government employment to power the economy.

    Apparently, progressives still haven’t figured out that their cherished Canadian social programs and government employment needs to be paid for by exports of petroleum production, agricultural products, mining, etc. Canada gets a better price for those products if there’s is multiple worldwide customer buying them, instead of just the US.

    I guess someone needs to explain to these silly voters that if they reduce resource exports then the only other way to pay for big government and social programs is high taxes and high debt. Those high taxes and high debts becomes a vicious cycle that ends in a developing world standard of living and a banana republic.

The federation exists to serve their interest. That is their mantra. Libranos need a boogie man to keep the ruse going. Alberta is that whipping boy.

       No country can operate on a basis like this indefinitely. Failure is assured. Maybe the Trump administration will move the failure along.

11. I do like that Pierre Poilievre answers media questions well, and as close to direct, and including possible outcomes for various nuances that could be related.

    However I do not support him (nor Stephen Harper’s recent comments) in his arguments of fighting for Canada to remain intact.

    AB/Sask. is better off without old tier 2 Canada’s eastern deadweights. We’re not represented at the federal level as we should be while the eastern provinces are grotesquely overrepresented, and in +150 years of confederation there appears to be no way of remedying this wrong.
    Now we’re now going to be used as a sacrificial lamb for fighting off American tariffs, while the imbeciles in Ottawa ignore the problem at hand, which is the border.

    We’re led by idiots, we deserve better, time to exit from Canada.

    1. You do realize that it’s the customer who pays for products not the producers. The market determines the price while the tariff is the theft of the initiating government. The producers discount if any and consumers willing to eat whatever increase establish the price. Both sides lose.

This should be the point of discussion – how to avoid crippling tariffs. Instead we get a steaming dose of Orange Man Bad and our only weapon to fight back is forcing Trump to look for – numerous and eager – alternatives to Alberta oil. Pass the bag of hammers … we have another news conference to spread the message.
