At 7:30 in, Subramanya reminds us that polls taken a year after the Trucker Freedom Protests suggest that a majority of Canadians supported the freezing of bank accounts of anyone who supported the protests.

This was a pivotal moment for me. I drew a line in the sand. I simply cannot be friends with anyone who was entirely fine with these totalitarian measures. Our values are simply too far apart. The easy acceptance of such government overreach explains why so many Canadians are complete cucks.

    Who conducted the polls? What was the actual question? What were the sample sizes? Where was the population sampled? Etc., etc., etc.

    You tell me what result you want & I’ll craft you a poll producing said result, 99 times out of 100.

      Exactly so, DB. All consultants produce the answers their clients want. Let me frame the question and I can have the same group of people give you two entirely opposing answers to the same question. Polling is an art done by generally very clever people. But it’s purely mercenary: pay me and I will give you any answer to any question you want. During my career, I was involved in polling. So I have some experience here.

  2. It’s this kind of revelation, among others, that tells me Canada, the idea, the nation-state, is dead.
    We simply cannot vote our way past the far leftists who want the government to take all the money and dictate our lives.
    The productive class is punished, the government spends borrowed money, far beyond its ability to pay back and sentences our youth to economic servitude.
    True, its happening all over the western world, but Canada seems particularly wedded to the process. We ignore reality in health, environment, mineral extraction, immigration, and one cannot help but wonder what the real agenda might be.
    I used to think perhaps a constitutional conference might be the answer, with at least some of Canada saving itself, but now I’m not so sure. What’s really loathsome is that the fools have done this to everyone, despite being warned over and over.
    Collapse happens as the foundation is slowly rotted, and then the whole edifice falls down.

He always seamed OK to me, but when I stated the turnip and fatso screwed that up, he was like there are people who work nites an sleep in the day, true enough but ear plugs are cheap, so I said that my rite to be represented to not be force with that shit was greater then some ones rite to not spend 2 bucks on ear plugs, I dropped him with his mini excavator off, and haven’t heard from him since. Well at least I don’t have to listen to his bible pounding stupidity any more, there’s that.

  11. In general, the Canadian electorate is an unsophisticated mob. A female friend of mine, when asked why she voted for Trudough commented that he had such dreamy hair. Other friends I know will not go to the US because Trump is going to be President. Nor will they watch American cable channels while he is in office. Then again the CBC is their go to channel anyway. Will see how long that lasts what with the NFL etc.

    1. WRT to voting for dreamy hair, I once had (female) neighbours telling me they were voting for so & so because he was good looking! At the time, I commented to my husband that I wasn’t sure giving women the vote was such a good idea. I watched a 3-way conversation on YouTube that included Andrei Martyanov and he said Trudeau was elected by middle-aged women because of his hair. We’re doomed.

      1. They might use his hair as an excuse, but it is simpler. Canada is the most milquetoast country ever, we cluster about the mean so tightly that our bell curve looks more like a steeple. The Liberals are percieved to be in the “middle” so a natural fit. Canadians are also incredibly mentally lazy, so don’t bother doing any thinking and contract it out to media. Only dire circumstances can shake them out of their ennui, I am actually starting to believe the level of impoverishment and abuse by this malignant cancer which is Trudeau and his minions are one of those times.

  13. All polls depend on the questions asked. If the question is “do you think the government should be able to freeze your bank account if you have not broken any laws?”, you will get a different answer than if you ask “Do you believe the government should take whatever action is required to stop threats to the Canadian economy?” Another question would be “Do you think someone honking a vehicle horn poses a threat to the Canadian economy?” There are lies, damned lies, and statistics.

    If the poll had said a majority of Canadians had answered “Huh, wut?” to the question, that I would have believed.     There is X/Twitter talk of another convoy to Ottawa soon to show support for an early election, and some warnings revolving around emergency act protocols being different when parliament is prorogued.
    Trudeau could invoke emergency measures at any moment if faced with a new convoy, and as parliament is suspended, so is the right of parliament to oversight on this. It may be in place until parliament reconvenes.

    Canada is seriously broken, I don’t think canceling the laws that #Libranos brought to Canada are the simple fix, and something on a constitutional level will be required. Trouble is, where will Canada find enough people to put the work in who aren’t already sick to death of gov’t overreach and malfeasance?
    I’d prefer AB/Sask. separate from the mess, at some point in the next 100 years perhaps old Canada can figure it out and offer those provinces an equal stake in confederation, though I doubt the Atlantic welfare dependencies would sign off on this.

    No doubt the banks would pay for polls showing support without a care as to who they’re polling for. Most folks don’t read past a headline, so a headline is all you need.

    1. City of Ottawa doesn’t want the bank accounts frozen if the truckers do appear. Their new idling bylaw of no idling beyond 1 minute per 60 minutes and the hefty fines would clean up all the financial woes they have.

      Maybe that was the idea?

I was standing in line at the Dollar Store and the woman ahead of me was looking at her phone when she chanted “Fuke those truckers I hope they shoot them” then she looked back at the people inline who were all nodding in agreement. I said out loud “I support those freedom fighters. Why is it okay to chant my body my choice until you agree with what they want to put in my body against my wishes. Not a peep from any of them in response, in fact they couldn’t make eye contact with me. I will never submit to liberal bullies.

I wonder how many would continue to villify Convoy supporters if they realized the Emergency Measures were a violation of Charter rights. This was determined by a Federal court about a year ago. Did not get much media coverage. Libs have vowed to appeal the ruling, but it’s been a year, and they have not done anything.

In a similar circumstance, the government would do it again, eventually someone would take it to court and the court would rule the same. The government doesn’t care what the court said, and the court won’t do anything about it, and citizens yawn and wait for their government gruel.

    Personally, since Covid & Freedom Convoy I’ve become very pessimistic and untrusting about fellow Canadians. Something like Yeah you’re signing change of direction at intersection but I don’t trust you to actually move that direction until you do. And all the crazy pro-Palestine yelling confirmed.

    I live in Lotusland and spoken with many people of many political opinions, and while some criticized the truckers staying on the Hill, not one of them (OK a few double down leftie loonies) supported confiscating bank accounts.

    Maybe we could remind Canadians of what the Justice Minister at the time had to say when asked if normal, everyday, law-abiding citizens should be concerned they will be the next victims of heavy-handed statism, he replied – which I heard for myself, with no filters, which I will never forget – “if they’re Trump supporters.”

    Kind of says it all for me, that they want to pick fights with the citizens and foreign leaders, or anyone else to save their sorry political butts and justify their phony baloney jobs.

    The Bong experienced the world differently. He grew up privileged. Never had to work. Had no connection to the working class. Held them in contempt. He surrounded himself with those of like mind.     His vision of Canada was not that of it’s citizens. His values were never ours and it has finally caught up to him and his caucus followers. He is/was completely out of step with the country he leads.

    While I have never voted liberal I wouldn’t call voting liberal a mental illness. I’ve seen mental illness up close. Looking back on the last 10 years it seems Canada made a big mistake voting for an adolescent who had a vision. It just wasn’t framed in reality.

    Maybe , just maybe we are waking up from the consumption of lies and endured complacency.
