The Power Of No

Toronto Sun;

A Northern Ontario mayor who was fined for voting against flying a Pride flag at his town hall says he will not be bullied into paying the $5,000 penalty.

Nor will Mayor Harold McQuaker be taking LGBTQ training as he has been ordered to by the Ontario Human Rights Commission (OHRC).

And, McQuaker, insisted he won’t cave to demands that he must host a Drag Time story hour in the local library, either.

Good for him.

  1. Good for him. Unfortunately, the alphabet people are extremely vindictive and will do everything they can to destroy him, both morally and physically, to make the point that you do not cross them. They’re just as bad as the mafia when it comes to dealing with those who don’t show proper respect.

  2. Simple justice.
DOX every minion of the Ontario Human Rights Commission.
They are doing these Witch Trials on tax payers funds, every one of them needs to be identified.
Any person who is willing to serve on a Human Rights Commission, deserves public humiliation.
    On every front.
    “Truth is not a defence”..
When you are dragged before a Humans Rights Tribunal.
    So the Supreme Court ruled.
Then the commission has no standing, except as the enemy of Law and Justice.

    1. Make the HR Commissionaires legally responsible for their decisions. Right now, they can deny people their human rights and charter rights without any consequences.

Yes out these people, the HRC and this specific LGBTQ+ group as the bullies that they are. Shun them.

      1. Actually, just abolish them. By statute. If there’s a Charter challenge, invoke S.33.
The Ontario government could do this tomorrow, if it wanted to.
        Why doesn’t it want to?

    2. HRC = purist of pure liberalism.
its ‘one thing’ to give them air time and floor space but the brutishness of using ‘the law is the law is the law is the law’ to FORCE us into ‘joining in the celebration’. is NAZIISM.
maybe there will be a gofundme so mr mayor CAN take it to supreme court. come on CanaDUH dont you know *yet*? YOURE NEXT.
AND ALL YOU LIBERAL VOTERS NEED YOUR BALLS LOPPED OFF
      TO MATCH YOUR MINDSET

      1. “Chief Commissioner XXXXX
XXXXX is a Woman-of-colour who pushes boundaries to ensure access to justice, equality and equity. She has a passion for the rule of law, and a commitment to public service, mentoring, coaching and legal education”

That’s pretty much all you need to know.

        1. exactly. in other words, every godam trick in the book to push nonsensical agendas favouring miniscule portions of the population.

        2. This one and every other commissioner appointed while Doug Ford has been Premier. In fact, this one was not only appointed but was returned for a second term under Doug Ford’s Premiership.

  3. Wonderful! Stay the course! What can they do? Kill you? Those vindictive snowflakes are due their asskicking for dreaming up stupid crap like fines for NOT celebrating Pride perversion. So tired of having their twisted compass heading thrown in my face – and apparently the Ontario Mayor is too. Good on him!

  4. Yeah, fxrced celebration of sexuality and gender identity is not something a free country should be doing. What’s next, a human rights complaint for failing to attend and show sufficient enthusiasm during a pride parade?

Human rights commissions should be completely disbanded because they always end up in crazy town. Not an ounce of common sense in the people running these commissions. There are adequate labour laws, small claims courts, business laws, criminal laws, etc to protect from discrimination. Star chambers and kangaroo courts like human rights commissions are not just unnecessary but an dangerous warping of the legal system.

    1. “What’s next, a human rights complaint for failing to attend and show sufficient enthusiasm during a pride parade?”
That is exactly what this is. That lawyer who runs Borderland Pride needs to be removed from polite society.

      1. This kind of heavy handed legal action will produce the exact opposite of what politicians and activists want. It will produces resentment. Just like males in female sports and locker rooms, SOGI education in school and DEI programs create anger and rejection.

There’s a big difference between live and let live versus you will be required to celebrate our lifestyle or else. Groups that want the latter are obliterating the case for live and let live.

      2. Sounds like North Korea when the last tyrant died. The ultimate punishment was death if you did not show enough tears. And apparently someone in the family was executed for consuming alcohol during the forced grieving events.

    2. I agree with you, LC. The real issue right now is whether the HRC judgment will be enforced by the police upon the orders of the provincial crown attorney. If it will not enforce the HRC then the statute is a dead letter. Non-enforcement of laws on the books is a rather common event.

      1. Well, let’s hope someone in a position of authority has the sense to not enforce this HRC decision.

The LGTs needs to return to advocating for equality instead of acting like power hungry bullies. TQ+ should be removed from the gay rights movement altogether. There’s a huge difference between sexual identity and gender identity. The TQ+ are leading LGB into dangerous territory.

        1. Agreed. This decision falls within the mandate of Doug Downey, Ontario Attorney General. One relevant fact which may enter the picture: Ontario’s criminal courts have severe backlogs for just about everything. Adding this HRC complaint could well mean statute of limitations with respect to serious criminal charges and trials.

And that will be immediate political lightning for the government of the worst kind. No one in southern Ontario cares about some HRC complaint about a tiny town in northern Ontario. But people care greatly about inadequacies of law enfxrcement.

    3. Human rights commissioners should be required to pay back all the fines they have levied during their tenure (with interest) and then jailed for 5 years for taking human rights from their victims.

  5. Appalling forcing them to participate should be a crime, forcing a little town to pander to special interest groups is not okay. Forcing the town to provide vulgar adult entertainment at a library is one step to far. Stay strong, do not bend the knee, it’s high time those so called grievance industry under the banner of “Human rights” be shut down.

  6. Human Rights boards are collections of low-IQ turds.
Individual Rights are God-given, Existential, Natural – label it how you like.
Group rights are the dream of losers, whiners, lesser beings who can’t handle facts and truth.
Group rights have brought us “equity”.
Equity is the participation medal for fat kids, retards and spaztics.
Or the ultimate misogynist – the dude who beats the shit out of a chick in the boxing ring.
Like Climate Cultists, Group Rightists exist in delusion.

  7. The amount of the fine is of no concern to me, because Bertram Cates has no intention of paying this or any other fine. If it were one single dollar, he would not pay it.

Two can play the conscience-vs-religion game, Mig-15s.

  8. How about our rights to not celebrate their lifestyle.

    What’s next? Enforced Ramadan celebrations?

Sounds like the gays are leaving Emo, must be a very small population percentage as Emo is only about 1300 people. Makes room for the rest of us, after fumigating the house……Nice place, only 1/2 hour to Fort Frances/International Falls at the Canada/US border. You can see Minnesota across the Rainy River from downtown Emo. They still have a dirt race car track and Saturday evening racing.

My sister lived there many years ago.
