Enbridge in talks about Mainline pipeline expansion as Canadian oil output grows

This is very significant, as the enormous cost overruns (6x over initial budget) of the Trans Mountain Expansion seemed to scare off anyone from ever doing a major pipeline in this country again. But that was the federal government running the show.

Historically, Enbridge built a new mainline pipe about every decade. The shot above was Line 3 replacement in 2017. The previous Alberta clipper was 2008-2009. And this new development is very likely so that Enbridge is ready to go with a new Conservative government in place next year. Thoughts?

  1. We need Northern Gateway back.
A line to Churchill for an LNG terminal.
    Eastlink reopened.
    and the Keystone XL.
    All for starters.
No matter what the Climatards say, Oil is going to be around for generations, we as a country need to cash in.

    1. The Churchill shipping season is too short to seriously consider it as anything more than an uneconomic make work project.
The Churchill shipping season starts on Aug. 1 and continues until Oct. 31 each year. The port normally handles around 500,000 tonnes of Western Canadian grain each year.

  2. I say dream on. I hope I’m wrong.
U.S. presidential election, Trump is not far enough ahead in pols to overcome dem bald box stuffing.
Canada federal election libs will oust Turd Jr. and will win with the backing of dips and block.

    1. You’ll see … Trump’s vote is too big to rig against. But it’s going to take a few days/weeks to sort out the fraudsters from the legitimate votes.
As to our PM, I believe he and his government will face the music soon after the Trump inauguration.

  3. thoughts? lm saddened and annoyed that 1 childish brain in the wrong place can so hobble progress development and wealth building.

1 gawdawful narcissistic bigot hypecrite leftoid brain, in hte wrong place, all that delay.

  4. There will be a window of opportunity for resource companies to get projects approved and built. That window is the time between a Conservative Party victory and when the voters in central and eastern Canada vote in another economy destroying socialist government. Companies and their first nations partners should have their project proposals ready to submit as soon as possible after the election. I’m sure the Liberal government will try to set up as many legal and environmental roadblocks before they lose power so the Conservative Party must be ready to bulldoze those roadblocks quickly.

The only way to recover from the lost decade and mountain of debt caused by the Trudeau Liberal-NDP government is to unshackle Canadian resource companies.
