Planet Brokeness

Via HotAir;

Planet Fitness saw the valuation of the company’s stock drop this week after an Alaska gym canceled a woman’s membership when she photographed a male using the women’s locker room.

The company’s stock price, which traded at a monthly high of $66.92 on March 7, plummeted to a low of $56.46 on Tuesday.

The price drop followed an incident in which Patricia Silva encountered a “man in women’s locker room shaving.”

  1. I’m 100% in favor of real women fighting back at fake women to claim what’s rightfully theirs.

also, my daughter’s agree. (the apostrophe indicating ownership is intentional)

    1. Well, this 100% real woman is not a fan of fitness classes gyms, anyway. Why even go at all? Yes, fake women, intact, should not be allowed, for sure.

I joined a couple of gyms, and found the regimes to be ugly, unfeminine poses, often set to bad music, as I loved the beauty and grace of classical ballet as a child and later.

Physical fitness can be maintained by doing a useful everyday fun and routine work; playing active sports; and enjoying dancing (try ballet, the salsa, folk-dance, the malaguena for a lithe body).

Many people have back packs that rival weight training, although overhead carry, as Africans do, is probably better for upper body strength.

Carrying healthy baby-to-6 year-old is great for building upper body strength, as is bringing up heavy boxes from the garage, carried properly, and running up-and-down flights of stairs. Malls in urban centres are great, because you can look-see, but avoid boring hours spent walking or running in bad weather, or having an expensive, unattractive home stationary home bike that almost requires an entire room.

Frankly, using a bike on Vancouver’s seawall is seriously dangerous in good weather; it is terrifying to defend my dog crossing a bike path, out for a pee. No obeyed rules for speed or common sense, as biking is cool, right? Every ad for a new condo anywhere here has a picture of happy age 30’s with bikes and communal work-out spaces.

A smaller dog and kiddies are useful for flexibility, as they are always at floor level needing things or floor-stretching pick-ups. High and low kitchen cupboards are also good, especially in normal homes without 20×20 sq. foot kitchens.

I hate gardening, but crouching around at ground-level is also great for those who enjoy it, while getting doses of vitamin D.

  2. “Planet Fitness is claiming that Silva’s membership wasn’t revoked over any sort of transgender policy issues.”

    They’re such liars.

    1. Technically true. The cancelled if for violating their no judgement policy.
They cater almost exclusively to the insecure and lazy, with a business model based on keeping the monthly auto payment low enough that people don’t cancel when they are not using the gym. No wonder they want to encourage all their customers to go through life lacking judgement.

    2. Her membership was revoked due to Trans-shaming. PF has a strict policy against Fat-shaming and Trans-shaming. I suspect they also have a policy against Gay-shaming and Pedo-shaming … although, probably not.

    3. I believe her membership was revoked because she used her camera in the locker room
I belong to a Good Life gym here in Burlington and they have a sign up warning about use of recording equipment.

      1. As far as I am concerned she recorded a crime in progress on her phone, which should always be exempt from such privacy rules. When you break the law (peeping Tom Laws) … you have no right to privacy.

        1. “As far as I am concerned she recorded a crime in progress on her phone, which should always be exempt from such privacy rules.”

Exactly, Kenji. Without that photo they would have claimed she was lying.

Same goes for recording a cellphone conversation when someone is threatening or trying to extort you, and they then have the nerve to whine about ‘illegal recording’ or something. Happened to an MP up here once (even though in Canada is is completely legal to record a conversation between two people as long as one of the parties involved knows they are being recorded).

        2. Agreed.

Once again, we see what the “see something, say something” is about. They don’t want people to report crimes so they can reduce crime, it’s so they can go after the whistleblower.

  3. They should rename to Meteor Fitness.
Would be okay if the “queer” was shaving his balls?

    1. When we lived in Japan long ago, we learned about women who were “exposted to”, and their reported retort was:

      あなたのちんこ小さいね!
      (anata no chinko chiisai ne)
Rough translation from rusty Japanese: your thingy is small, isn’t it

That probably worked for them, but not for the new North American muticults on the block. No shame or embarrassment; just immediate aggression.

  4. well that ditty came out just in time.
to induce me to think EFF YOU PLANET SHITNESS.
lve been working out seriously since 1st full time job 1970.
at present my weight room strategy is to TOTALLY disengage.
l cant see them they cant see me and NONE OF THIS is going to happen in THEIR gym

  5. Planet Fitness business model is to sign people up for cheap, hope they never show up and make it near impossible to cancel the membership.

A few people quitting isn’t going to bother them, and their stock price was back up to $60 on Friday

    1. “Planet Fitness business model is to sign people up for cheap, hope they never show up and make it near impossible to cancel the membership.”

That sounds glib, until you start reading the *hundreds of reviews* saying that it is actually true.

  6. Truth: They’re more scared of Woke Trans Activists and their Antifa BFFs than anyone else. Until that changes, expect more of the same!
