We are being tricked into thinking things are better than they are. Food is a small portion of my income and I don’t really worry about it. But I’ve stood behind people at the grocery store (moms usually) who have to remove food from their cart in order to pay for their groceries. 7% annual food inflation since 2020? I don’t believe it.
I see moms trying to pay for that cartload and it breaks my heart. These are our people, here and now, who need help.
