If Pence had any balls, which he doesn’t, he would claim executive privilege in his conversations with Trump. Instead he is an insufferable asshole. He is not a conservative. He’s the swamp personified. Every true conservative dislikes him.
The reason Pence is vilified is because he, in his duties as vice president, confirmed the results of the 2020 presidential election, which was seen as stabbing Trump in the back.
That makes him a hero. He put the rule of law over partisan politics, even as he ended up being hated by Democrats and Republicans alike.
I guess that’s why the Swamp changed the electoral count act, after the fact? If Pence was not allowed to not certify, why did they need to change the act?
“I guess that’s why the Swamp changed the electoral count act, after the fact? If Pence was not allowed to not certify, why did they need to change the act?”
Everyone who has actually referenced the US Constitution on this matter knows that he WAS most definitely allowed to delay certification…in fact, it was his *duty* to do so if there was any doubt as to the validity of the results. The Democrats argued that Pence couldn’t do it because no one had ever done it before, which is a ridiculous argument.
The same people argue that states changing their election laws to allow mail-in voting without a vote of their respective legislatures *as required by the US Constitution* was perfectly fine…”move along, nothing to see here…”
(it was illegal, and they know it)
“Everyone who has actually referenced the US Constitution on this matter knows that he WAS most definitely allowed to delay certification”
There’s nothing in the constitution that says Pence could have delayed it. Maybe some interpret it that way, but it’s not at all obvious. I’ve quoted the pertinent part of the constitution in another post below.
At any rate, delaying would have achieved nothing. Dozens of legal challenges had failed. The Supreme Court refused to review those findings. End of story.
This is everyone’s first mistake. Mike Pence will be hanged. They (Uniparty Scum) needed an “emergency “ to trigger “emergency rules” which resulted in the 2 objections to the election results being shelved.
Since no “objections” were made, each court denies the case for lack of standing.
The “Pipe Bombs” at the DNC Headquarters was the insurance policy.
They didn’t need it.
Therefore 30 Pence could say what he said.
People like you make me sick. You don’t recognize Tyranny but you will soon. All you smug FILTHY LIBERALS will be in the fetal position crying when the SHTF.
BE ADVISED
With all due respect, FL, you’re gone cuckoo for cocoa puffs.
One more stupid, idiotic pick by Trump – I will vote again for Trump if he is the nominee but I have no hope he has learned a damn thing about choosing subordinates – Trump values loyalty over competence and got neither one. Who the hell does listen to? His family I guess as they are ostensibly loyal.
Trump was an unknown candidate in 2016 and he was advised that Pence would lock up the Bible Belt conservative vote … since Trump was being slammed as a Godless NYC Democrat in sheep’s clothing at the time. A bitter pill to swallow … but it worked, as against all odds, polls, and apparent voter sentiment … Trump WON the Presidency.
For you to imagine nothing is different this time around … when Trump is simply CRUSHING the competition, and the Christian Right is 100% behind Trump … is just silly. And no … Trump doesn’t need the likes of Rence Prebious or whatever that RNC handler was in the Trump Admin. Everything … EVERYTHING … is different this time round.
Like second marriages, you are picking hope over reality.
Let’s see who he picks as VP this time. The major question in that case would be, if Trump dies do we get something as good or better to replace him.. Given all the names bandied so far about the answer right now is absolutely not.
30 Silver Pence?
He has completely sold out his soul, his country, the Constitution, and We The People. As scar wrote, “He’s the swamp personified.”
SPIT!! May he choke on his 30 pieces of silver.
And how did he sell out his country? Precisely.
Killer unDORK
By not asking to audit election results.
The mountain of evidence that is out there now , as to election fraud is so great, only some one as stupid as you would deny it.
1. No insults.
2. There were over 40 courts challenges of the results immediately following the election, some initiated by Trump himself. They all failed, often at the hands of Trump-appointed judges. There was no legal basis for Pence not to confirm the results. And in this situation, the rule of law was paramount.
https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-campaign-lawsuits-election-results-2020-11
Judges who agreed with Pence … that our voting “institutions” are sacrosanct and simply cannot be assaulted by a disgruntled loser … right? It’s OK if our sacrosanct voting “institutions” are weaponized against a “dangerous” candidate … because even a brain-damaged FAKE POTUS who has all but destroyed America … is better than Trump.
What you have to believe to imagine the Judges didn’t have ulterior motives … motives just as transparent as Judge Engoron
Kenji:
The judges didn’t rule that the voting institutions are sacrosanct. They ruled that the various challenges to the election results didn’t stand up, for various reasons — mostly, so far as I can see, that there wasn’t sufficient evidence of it presented in court.
Over 60 actually. And I don’t think any went to trial. Because under the full light of day, the swamp would have lost.
So judges usually fell back on lack of standing. Which is a joke.
Ward:
Even if what you say is true, from Pence’s point of view it made no difference.
MAYBE he could have done something if the courts ruled there were widespread voting irregularities. But without the courts’ support, he had no choice. The idea that he could have unilateraly declared the election result questionable is pure fiction.
“2. There were over 40 courts challenges of the results immediately following the election, some initiated by Trump himself. They all failed, often at the hands of Trump-appointed judges.”
Yes, that’s what happens when no court has the courage to actually EXAMINE the evidence and just dismisses it instead.
“There was no legal basis for Pence not to confirm the results. ”
Says who? He could easily have objected, and sent the issue back to the individual states:
The new legislation also raises the threshold required for members of Congress to object to certifying the electors. Before, only one member of the House and Senate respectively had to object to force a roll call vote on a state’s electors.
…and those states have more power than you seem to realize.
(and of course, Ward’s point remains: if he never had the power, why the sudden push for legislation to limit that non-existent power?)
Says who? He could easily have objected, and sent the issue back to the individual states:
The Vice President has no constitutional powers to do that. None. The best Pence could have done is approach the Supreme Court, but with what? They had already refused to hear appeals regarding election irregularities.
You guys want to imbue the VP position with super powers that aren’t there.
Where in the constitution is the Vice President given the right to demand an audit of the election results in lieu of confirming the results?
Where in the Constitution does it empower the VP to shut down any and all discussion and/or comment … from The People’s Elected Representatives… about a House election certification vote prior to demanding a vote?
There I fixed your straw man question. Idiot.
The part that says the Vice President is also the President of the Senate. He chairs the senate, and thus can control what is discussed.
Al Gore did the same in 2001, and he was silencing those who wanted him (the current VP and thus President of the Senate) to rule in favor of him (the Democrat presidential candidate).
No such silencing in 2016. Hmmm? I wonder why? And what would motivate Pence for SILENCING questions about election integrity that SHOULD have been topic #1 for a so-called Democracy? The House is a deliberative body … you know … it’s the House’s “Institutional” tradition and ethic to present and argue the truth and facts.
If the Judicial Branch shirked their responsibilities… then it fell to the Legislative Branch to settle the matter.
Had nothing to do with evidence, it was “Standing” see above.
FL:
No, some of the decisions were based on the merits of the case rather than lack of standing. And the Supreme Court, which leans conservative, refused to review any them. Get your facts right.
To be blunt, the Republicans could not find significant and credible examples of voter fraud. Don’t blame me, wasn’t my doing.
Here’s what the U.S. constitution says about confirming the results of the election.
Do you see anything that gives the President of the Senate (that is, the Vice President) the power to refuse to confirm the election results? Nope, neither do I. It’s not anywhere in the constitution.
Fuzzy Marmot, go read Sundance’s article on this. You are wasting your time. Emergency Rules needed to be in place. You are missing the entire evil act. Once the people entered the Capitol, Skeletor and 30Pence had their “emergency”. No objections were heard. Therefore none can proceed in court as ZERO objections were made. If the crowd didnt provide the emergency, then the “Pipe Bomber” would. THEY HAVE NEVER FOUND THE PERSON. Hmmmm
FL: I have no idea what your point is here. This isn’t about Jan 6.
Pence is the biggest rat bastard out there second only to Romney.
Burton
Don’t forget nikki and chenny
Bill Barr??
Barr was another stupid pick from Trump. Honestly, I don’t know if Trump is absolutely garbage at picking subordinates or if he’s just stuck trying to pick from the least worst options. That doesn’t really explain why Trump trusted Michael Cohen for paying out hush money though. At that time, Trump could have picked anybody.
Dan S; Trump was given a list of approved swamp critters that the Senate would confirm. His task was to pick the least swampy critter that might get a few things done for him… maybe.
Do note that, to the best of my knowledge, the Trump Presidency was the only Presidency where the Senate never recessed, thus denying Trump the opportunity to make recess appointments of his choices. It only takes one Senator to call the recess and Every.Last.Stinkin’.Senator stood down from calling for the recess. That includes our *ahem* ‘principled’ Rand Paul.
That’s why Trump’s picks sucked. He did manage to get Wilbur Ross and Mike Flynn through before they realized that Trump’s picks would upset the applecart. Pence was responsible for taking out Flynn. Nobody could touch Wilber. He was one of those ‘killers’ that Trump said he’d bring in. I can only guess that the Senate and D.C. knew better than to poke the bear. Leave that one alone, maybe? Hard to say, though.
^^^^100%^^^^
Barr was the only one the Senate RINOs would approve. Did he even need approval as a former AG? He had just fired the stupid asshole Jeff Sessions who voluntarily recused himself from the fake Russia Russia Russia BS.
Dan S.
Barrf, cohen, bluddy Joos, and Trump is big on Jewish support, and trusts them, too much for my liking. Even his own SIL, was in contact with SoreA$$ during Trump’s tenure.
Trump was new to the “game” and trusted people too easily, now he knows better, I hope.
That’s a hilarious thread question!
I’ll give him this though: no meetings with a woman without his wife present. Brilliant. Not conservative so much as self conservationist.
If Mike Pence has any values at all, conservative or otherwise, it certainly isn’t evident from his behavior. I wouldn’t trust him as far as I could throw him by the ear.
Stop arguing with the Dead Rat Troll.
Calls itself a conservative, but argues against everything.
Needs official government verification, and MSM approval, to project its belief system.
He’s a good LIEberal.
I don’t consider myself a conservative and have never called myself one. I consider myself a classic liberal (which has nothing to do with modern liberalism). I often get called a conservative — and sometimes a fascist — by progressives whose knowledge of political science is thinner than rice paper.
But given my habit of employing logic and fact, often providing links to outside sources, it doesn’t surprize me that you consider me a troll. My views must be upsetting to you.
Classic Liberals know CULTURAL MARXISM and apparently you can’t see it. The latest abomination is the 1st Amendment case against Mark Steyn.
You need to get with the good guys or quit wasting time arguing here. We don’t have time to go over shit to convince you.
If you cant see what noose is being tied around your neck then we can’t help you.
Good luck. You’ll need it.
FILTHY
There is that saying, “when they run out of Jews”, and killer unDORK doesn’t get it.
He’s just too stupid, emotional twit , nothing more.
The blog owner asked that there be no more insults. Your choice, of course.
There is no relation between classic liberalism and cultural Marxism.
Ha..!! Someone left a message on Freelands voice mail saying she should be HUNG for Treason…!! (who would argue otherwise.??)
Cops come and they tell em to get lost….in a manner of fashion.

I thought “Mike Pence” was what an English DJ receives in tips?
