  1. Bell /Ctv has been in shutdown mode for a few years. They fired the overpaid Lisa LaFlamme a coupla years ago and are in rationalization mode divesting themselves of nonperforming assets.

    Their business model is failing.

    1. Rats, I guess I should sell my BCE shares. They have been taking a bit of a dive recently. Paid a decent dividend over the years.

  2. 11 years for me.
In Canada, if you pay for cable/stat tv, then you are knowingly and willfully funding the sickened progressive agenda.

    1. I think it’s been over 10 yrs since I started streaming. I only pay for bandwidth. I refuse to pay for Cable/Reg TV. Theres simply no reason to punish my self with Increased costs, Incessant Commercials & utterly lousy programming.

  3. cant wait for the demise of CBCpravda , my only advice to Pierre is biblical . what thou doest , do quickly

the snake will writhe and scream to the end

  4. The media is kinda like elections.. You can’t force me to participate and maintain the illusion at the same time..
The downfall of every dictatorship ever..

  5. I get no news from mainstream lying media. Most are going to places like X, Rumble etc to get news.

  6. I gave up all TV about 12 years ago when the NHL went on strike.

    Don’t miss TV
    Don’t miss the commercials
    Don’t miss the not news
    Don’t miss over paid athletes

  7. Halleleujah! Let’s hope this is the first of the many Liberal funded programs to bite the dust. I haven’t been able to stomach Canadian news sites for years.

    1. I know exactly what you mean as David Suzuki with the constant Man’s fault and global warming which funded his propaganda quite well.
With Arial drones everywhere the propaganda is quite evident that he’s full of crap and we should have an actual physical audit and not what is funded by our politicians pushing an agenda.
Canada has only used less than 1% of our natural resources that grow back and replant. Overpopulation now of some areas where our species overabundance of resources including fish in fresh water.

  8. Let’s hope they get rid of the terrorist supporting moslem dirtbag Omar Sachedina –
This clown is a smug race baiting disgrace to real Canadians –

  9. Bell media pitched TV when I switched my internet from Rogers to Bell.

I took at least 10 minutes of explaining how CTV (Bell media’s propaganda arm) ruined TV and radio and the impossible chances of me ever watching any TV or listening to their shitty radio stations ever
    again.
A month later here we are.
    #### them.

    1. Telus did the sales pitch to get Optik TV added to my internet years ago.

I asked the salesman (yes, a man) why I would want to pump sewage into my family’s home. I explained that nearly every program on their cable service was hostile and destructive to the beliefs and foundations of God and the fundamental family. Why would I want that in my home? He paused and then agreed with me as he had never thought of it that way. (Wonder if he still works there?)

I then explained that I would like a red flag next to my account. If anyone calls to ask about me wanting cable TV, I would cancel everything to do with Telus. Been nearly 10 years and not one solicitation. Must be a big flag.

  10. Wow, Morley Safer worked there. I knew he was Canadian, but wasn’t aware of his early background. Safer was what I would call a Classical Liberal. He’d have problems with today’s Democrat party, but I suspect he would still support them, reluctantly.

Safer was the guy who covered and wrote about the US Marines burning down Vietnamese villages with zippo lighters and flame throwers prompting Lyndon Johnson to call him up and ask him if he was a Communist. Safer said, “No, I’m a Canadian.” Johnson responded, “Maybe they’re the same thing.”

  11. Heh. Good on you Macmillan! I won’t stand in the way of your schadenfreude..,take it all in and let if flow through you. You’ve earned it.
    nspector4 knows who he is.
“Shotgun blog”…Wow, I’d almost forgotten. My goodness! 20 years ago…*sigh* we were young then.

  12. inordinately pyssed at Rogers so l switch to Bell and included a video recorder capable machine.
after paying about a grand the unit fails. with my collection on it. they say send it in to swap. l saqy what about the videos on the disc that l tested and are still payable? can you transfer them onto the replacement machine? nix nada nyet
finally try Shaw. they screw me over as well.
strike 3 no more big players dismissive if not hostile behaviour.
at present lm with Start.ca except its just for the sake of a couple tenants and only the basic channels they provide over the internet link.

l inherited a flat screen from a tenant didnt have the means to take it with him.
l conked out during a gap in TV programming coverage would power on. havent watched TV in roughly 4 years.

  13. I like BNN-Bloomberg, but in truth the network has money problems. Nearly half of its advertising time is bought up by a small, sleazy finance company (Capital Direct). At night it runs telephone-sex ads. Much of corporate Canads refuses to support the beleaguered network. Look for BNN to die eventually.

Goòd news about ut the CTV news cuts. Of late the news division has tilted further left, trying to resemble CBC news as much as possible.

  14. And yet Trudeau will still give them millions to save programming and jobs they just cut. All those trusted media bribes didn’t pay off? Explain that ?

  15. The last year Eric Malling was host was when a sea change happened at CTV/W5.

They stopped doing pieces going after civil service, liberal and Liberal incompetence, waste, corruption etc. [as well as conservative ones] to CBC type targets.

I gave it Malling’s last year and saw there was no hope for returning to real investigative journalism and dropped it. I dropped CFTO Toronto local news too for the same reason so it probably happened at the same time.

  16. If you keep producing nothing but government disinformation, propaganda and boring garbage no one wants to watch, eventually you will go out of business.

I speculate that this is the CTV coverage of Covid finally coming around to bite them. People didn’t like being told they were all going to die, and then finding out it was a head-cold.

    Faster, please.

  17. They lie.
They know we know they are lying.
    They keep on lying.
    We stop buying.
They complain about a “Loss of trust”.
And go begging to their comrades in government.
    Then they get laid off.
Heh..Which part of The World has Changed”..?
The more things change, the more they stay the same.

The next part of the cycle will demonstrate the reliability and timeless nature of Human Nature.
    So Sad.
    Too Bad.

  18. As a business move Bell is doing the right thing – for their shareholders. Cutting losing assets.

For consumers, losing local news is not a good thing. Who’s going to report on the local mayor when he hands out a lucrative contract to his bil? You think the local blogger with his cell phone is going to break stories cub reporters handle daily? Not a chance.

I thought the government money the libranos have been throwing around was supposed to deal with things like this? Maybe Bell didn’t get the memo.
