What do you make of what Gavin Newsom said in this video?

His lips were moving and you know the rest.
Seems pretty clear. His instructions from the decision makers was to play up Joe Biden. That should tell you two important things:
1. They really are going to go through with it and try to get Biden a second term (which surprises me). That, also, means they will be switching out the VP running mate. Because, no one in their right mind will think Biden has another 4 years in him. Harris is too flakey to be controlled.
2. Newsom is a horrible actor. Way way way over the top. He, obviously, was promised 2028 contingent upon helping to push Biden across the finish line in 2024.
I noticed no one asked him if he would accept the VP slot should it be offered. He only said he wasn’t running for president.

Given today’s degraded culture, you can see why he is a successful politician. Honesty is an affliction of the unelectable. As Corolla said, it’s the people that elect someone like him that tells you everything you need to know about what is wrong with the culture.

Does Biden have some secrets on Newsom? I don’t know what else could explain this, does he simply enjoy telling tall tales for our enjoyment?

Newsom, like Biden and our other elected officials, are just actors on a stage. It’s the producers, directors, and writers behind the curtains that determine what the pols will say and do.
You write as though Newsom is making decisions, marc. He is not. He’s just following the script given to him to support and promote Brandon.
The sociopathic or psychopathic makeup of politicians guarantees the powers behind the scenes that a politician will carry out any order against the people up to and including k!ll!ng them with no qualms whatsoever. The politicians’ masters hold blackmail material over their heads to make sure the politicians don’t go rogue, try to think for their selves, have pangs of conscience, or get the silly notion that they are in control and can make their own decisions. The politicians are handsomely rewarded for their obedience.
Newsom is a politician. There is nothing different about him from any other politician except he seems to score a little higher on the psycho scale; no empathy whatsoever.
My opinion. That’s how I see it so that’s how I’m calling it.
California elects him. I guess democracies do get the government they deserve.

Why Gavin’s emphasis on the word “loyalty”? Because that’s exactly what DeSantis lacked.
