  1. This Canadian river is now legally a person.

…the Innu Council of Ekuanitshit (E can eat sh*t?)… declared the Mutuhekau Shipu a legal person in 2021. Now the river has nine rights, among them the right to flow, maintain biodiversity, be free from pollution, and to sue.

The good news is: “the river has been threatened by hydroelectric dam development, the negative environmental and social effects of which often outweigh any renewable energy benefits“. I feel bad for Quebec, don’t you?

    1. Give me a call when the river writes a novel. The stupid is strong out there Luke. I thought the tribal peoples had moved into the the 20th century at the very least.

    2. This is a great idea. Make all the water bodies legal persons. Then you can’t drink from them without their permission. Speaking on behalf of the water bodies, go stuff yourself. Or is it just the First Nations who get to make the rules? I want to hear the river’s opinion.

      1. VOWG and Steve – our legal system says a river has legal personhood but an unborn baby doesn’t! Legal is not logical. The left is very bad at framing things. They say government authority should trump parental rights in our public schools but if you reframe that to say “that’s what the government that started residential schools believed”, you will be called nasty names.

    1. Communists never give up, two steps “forward” one step back, until the destruction of society is complete.

    2. I’d be surprised if Nenshi ran for the Alberta NDP. I think he’s waiting for the Turd to lose an election, then he’ll run Federally.

But I agree with Jeff, that the Alberta NDP have cornered the left of center vote.

I’m thinking Trudeau’s real National Security Council consists of Gerald Butts and a representative of Xi.

  2. Former Ukrainian Ambassador Warns Country Being Sold Off to Deep State
“So this whole scheme of $40 million is just a small little example,” Telizhenko explained. “Ukraine became a failed state,” Telizhenko said, “because of the corruption and because Ukraine was sold off to the people inside Ukraine, was sold off to its Western allies, and people in Ukraine are suffering from this.”
The actions by Ukrainian authorities to arrest those involved in the motor scandal are token gestures, says Telizhenko, “It’s all a big show.”

Typical ‘shoot the messenger response’ from a typical left-wing shill. No surprise that you get your ass kicked here almost every time you post…restricting your sources of information to Huffpost, CNN, Salon and other far-left ‘news’ outlets all but guarantees that you will remain woefully, deliberately ignorant of the real facts on most issues. A smart person gathers *all* the available information before he or she forms (and expresses) their opinion. Not you though, Allan…fortunately, you can still be relied upon to pop up from the kiddie table regularly to blurt out something laughably inane for our amusement.

(thanks for that, anyway….it’s too serious around here at times and you really do lighten the mood…)

  3. OK, this link is an “advertorial” — an ad dressed up as a lengthy op-ed piece pushing a conservative ad agency. I get it. But the essay does cover lot of ground reviewing the decline in ad-based news:

I like the term “censorship industrial complex”, mentioned halfway through the article. The big corporations are boycotting Elon Musk’s X company, as to ad buying. The big corporations detest freedom of speech on the part of conservative voices.

  4. An interesting revelation to the woke. In the absence of group think the woke can’t help hisself (sic) to admit the truth.
A minor study on critical thinking.

It’s revealing how things become clear without ideology.

  5. Well…. I’m a bit surprised Groundhog day hasn’t been acknowledged yet. Do they have any such device there in Canada? Strychnine day would suffice I suppose. You could predict spring based on the direction the varmint was headed. Anyway here’s this year’s left injected silliness.

But is the police commander expressing such information out of concern for the bereaved parents or because the authorities fear another upheaval in protest against the nation’s policy of importing migrants who largely fail to assimilate into the community? …
