    1. Congratulations Canada ! There is so little actual CRIME in your country, that you can dedicate a whole TROOP of Police or RCMP’s or whatever they are to keep Reporters OUT of a public swim center. Yes, it is a building that is open to the public and as such must meet all the building and administrative codes of its locale. I don’t believe they’re allowed to commit political discrimination in admittance policies.

    1. I have read that water can be more destructive than fire and why on earth did they not build on top of stilts to account for tsunami waves? I have seen pictures of Malaysian village houses on thick posts.

  1. Here’s a railroad story, Robert. Well, sort of.

When I was a little kid, I found out my dad was an engineer. It was a bit confusing because he didn’t come home from work with one of those striped, puffed, engineer caps and wearing a red bandana, like my hero, Casey Jones, the all-time greatest engineer at the throttle of the Cannonball Express. None the less I was excited and proud.

Then I found out that he wasn’t “that kind” of engineer. Ohhh… [disappointed face] What 4-year-old kid knew there were different kinds?

It was 3 or 4 years before I finally took an interest in what my dad did. Turns out it was pretty cool; military aircraft and for something a little different from war birds, the lunar landing module.

  2. So I’m scanning the channels of my cable TV …. Yeah, I know, I know … before beddy bye … and I trip across this episode of Star Trek TNG … with THIS plot line …

The Enterprise crew makes contact with one band of Gatherers led by Brull, and offer negotiations. Brull negotiates with Marouk and Picard, and after hearing the offer, agrees to pass it on to the Gatherer leader, Chorgan. Meanwhile, Yuta meets alone with one of the older Gatherers and touches his cheek, causing the Gatherer to suffer a heart attack. As the man dies, Yuta asserts that she, as the last of her clan, Tralesta, will outlive the Lornak clan. The Gatherer’s body is later found but initially assumed that death was by natural causes. However, later investigation by Dr. Crusher reveals that a fast-acting “micro-virus”, targeted to attack a specific Acamarian DNA profile, was the cause. Dr. Crusher believes the virus was purposely genetically engineered, and that the death was a targeted murder. At Picard’s request, Marouk has her government send data to the Enterprise to investigate the murder.

i cannot imagine the government would have allowed this episode to be played during COVID. It’s almost as if Dr. Fauxci was inspired by it …

    1. There was another episode when one of their engineers developed an intense phobia of the transporter. When he analyzed what’s actually occurring it freaks him out even more. All the crew, it’s totally safe, your fear is irrational blah, blah, blah. Sounded a little too familiar.

    1. How convenient.
They will try to throw the book at Alberta every which way from Sunday. These c**ks**kers are relentless in their crimes and will do anything to prevent Alberta becoming the financial centre of Canada.
More and more people will be supporting the Western Republic of Canada as they see our opportunities, with the 3rd largest energy reserves in the world, squashed. They will rue the day.
