If you watch it like a parody of reality then it’s funny. I don’t pay a lot of attention to US elections and political parties but none of these things happened during Trump’s first term as president so it seems unlikely he would suddenly go full North Korean dictator.
The ad reeks of desperation because it so over the top. The Democrat’s poll numbers must be really awful to put this out so early in the election cycle. Usually this type of doom mongering propaganda is saved as a Hail Mary move close to an imminent election defeat.
When you can’t reference Trump’s past record, you do this.
When you can’t reference Biden’s present record, you do this.

No, quite a number will believe it, because they want it to be true. That kind of propaganda has been around for a while, and I know one fellow (whom I always thought was rather conservative and sensible) who believes that shit totally. I have a sister-in-law who has a visceral hatred for Trump (she can’t explain why) and she will believe anything bad about him, no matter how ridiculous.
As a student of history, it is always the Canadian Federal Liberals who pull this type of stuff. The most recent being Pierre Elliott Trudeau declaring the War Measures Act in 1970 and putting tanks on the streets of Montreal and Quebec city to his “son” pulling the same nonsense against the truckers’ protest in Ottawa.

well thank you OP Robert because lve been saying a long time that goebbels was the pioneer who perfected propaganda and made no bones about it. to him the word was not an obscenity but something to celebrate. he focused on results, fine tuned the delivery, topic of the day, and true to form ‘wrote the book’.
That piece of projection propaganda exemplifies the politics of pure hatred aimed at a nation edging towards civil war. Politics used to allow for some level of recognition human respect for those that you opposed but that clip demonstrated the complete dehumanization of the other, a prelude to societal collapse. If I believed in Satan, it’s what would have been behind that clip. They were seeking out their fellow monsters.
You know I remember being ten and attending The trappers convention in North Bay.
I was a lucky kid.
One booth was showing a documentary from some green group against the leg hold trap. I knew then the men or the act of harvesting game wasn’t barbaric or disrespectful, my dad sure as hell wasn’t. I grew to hate suffering just as much as him, and it was part of life. But I always knew they just wanted to ban something that was part of my way of life ,meanwhile not bearing to face something died for them to survive, that in itself showing their willingness as a group to lie to themselves, and not being able to face their own imperfect humanity.
I remember that movie.
They didn’t stop at the leg hold……. and they still aren’t done.
