Daily Sceptic- The Strange Case of the Exploding Wind Turbine
Shocking footage showed the energy generator in Ayrshire, Scotland, wracking up speed before the blades suddenly come loose and are flung across a seemingly deserted field in opposite directions.
Loud crashes are heard as the debris lands on the ground, while bare trees surrounding the lone turbine are blown back and forth.

Nothing new about that.
But just think of all the power it was generating in the moments before its destructive demise! 50M Kw/hr! A new RECORD for wind power! Yes … I honestly believe the eco-frauds would claim such a thing.
Should have listened to Scotty.
Well isn’t that just ducky, another liberal failed energy plan in a pile of garbage.
What could go wrong?
Everything. The bastards pushing this need to be pushed, and hard.
The blades are supposed to feather-off to neutral in high winds as they are contraptions structurally limited to a moderate range of wind speeds. When exceeded and allowed to run away, either the tower buckles or the blades do that. Definitely an energy choice of the innumerate or the maligned and only marginally economical in remote off-grid applications.
Operated by people who think 2 + 2 = 5
Don’t you love Marxist math?
Works every time right, right, right?
But, but, but … they’re doing it better THIS TIME … right?
Fail-Safe feathering seems to have had a catastrophic failure (..smile) !
Winning.

Wow! What a massive victory in the war to preserve natural vistas and protect them from the despoilment of ugly wind factories. And yes, the all-white eco terrorists who erected this eyesore, did so by trampling the Native Rights and Sovereignty.
But you don’t think Leonard DiCrapio will proudly stand with the Native People’s crusade against this gawd-awful blemish, do you?

Trampling Native Rights for oil … baaaaaad Mmmkay?
Trampling Native Rights for “clean, green” wind power … no problem … MmmmmmKay?
Hollywooden hypocrites.
Its very challenging finding navigable waters for his yacht in Oklahoma.
Strange that some natives have rights but other natives don’t. Shows that some are more equal than others
When I look at the photo of the shredded fiberglass blades, I can’t help but wonder the “carbon footprint” in the manufacturer of said blades, only to have them blow apart and rendered useless.
Worse, they can’t be recycled or even incinerated. Garbage dumps are filling up with busted windmill blades and f-ed solar panels! Won’t someone think of the children?! ~:D
Ohhhhhhhhh Mommmmaaaaaa … just think of all the “forever chemicals” that went into the fabrication of this “green” trash!?
There are 2 companies with patents for recycling, but they can’t process the amount of waste generated, and the cost is still magnitudes higher than just burying them in a dump
As I said E, none of this crap can be built without fossil duels. The word stupid is always front and center.
Again.. Make them as affordable as possible so the transition looks good on paper.. We could build them better but thats expensive.. That’s not going to look good on paper.. Then we put them all over the place for the logistics nightmare of maintaining huge spinning things in the sky.. Then we don’t like sight of them and for political reasons they are moved out into the ocean because apparently the wind blows better there..
Compounding every problem they have..
Solar?.. Covered in snow, smashed by hail or useless because its been overcast for 4 weeks.. We could build them better but thats expensive.. Same story different problems..
Magical huge batteries that we are going to JAM PACK with energy that are never going to catch fire.. Even though we can’t get the ones that are 1000X smaller to not burn.. They got this :)..
Its a boondoggle.. The political will to use the wrong tool for the wrong job.. Your government hates you..
Even better, Enbridge wants to build a battery storage facility right by the main Eastern Canadian natural gas hub. I certain the Dawn Euphemia fire department is thrilled with the prospect of putting out that fire.
Solar energy is much safer…check it out 😀 :

Ya got to love it.
Ouch! Now that’s a quality installation! Holding the solar panels down with cinder blocks.
The windmills burn because of friction and the oil (gasp) thats used to pressurize the hydraulic system.. The blades are so heavy that they literally float on oil.. Carrot juice need not apply..
This has been known for decades. In the mid-1970s, Ontario Hydro conducted a series of safety tests on wind turbines. These were much smaller than the 1 MW+ plus sizes built today. At that time they were as little as 50 kW machines. What OH discovered was that, even at that small size, the maximum throw distance of a turbine blade was about 1 km. It would deliver enough energy to destroy the roof of a house.
This capacity was lost when the Rae government destroyed OH’s capacity to energy system research and development in the early 1990s. The individual doing the destruction was Maurice Strong as the OH Chairman and President carrying out Rae’s instructions.
Rae was/is too stupid to think that up. It was Mo Strong’s insidious beliefs that hatched the green movement that were motivated by self enrichment.
Most large commercial wind turbines use fixed pitch blades, optimized for a certain range of wind speeds. Incorporating a pitch change mechanism in those, would be costly, heavy and more complex.
At least an aircraft can feather its prop blades when the engine looses power, its a safety feature, as a windmilling prop creates large amounts of drag and causes the plane to yaw to one side. There are a few methods to do this; blade design, counterweights, springs, aerodynamic forces and hydraulic control.
As I remember, the old farm style, water pumping windmills, had blades designed in a basket formation, so high winds would collapse the blades into a tunnel shape, so they could no longer spin. That combined with a tail vane that could also collapse and point the windmill into the wind in a streamlined fashion, called weathercocking, so it wouldn’t get ripped apart by the airstream. These systems could also be manual triggered to “shut the windmill off”. It seems the most ancient of designs are the better ones.. The turbines could work better if engineered properly and not by the hubris of man’s desires..
it looks like the brake failed in the video
No, actually, they don’t.
Every blade has a slewing ring at its base.
Musta been the Russians. Run outta pipelines they attack another energy source.
the blades really are a blight on the land. no thought on disposal in the promo literature.
think of all the energy needed to for instance grind them into pebbles and somehow add that into tarmac without compromising something else.
they went with the backup plan dump them near where they were used,
we have race of giant inanimate beings that work for a while. the rest isnt thought out yet.
Now that’s real pretty.
Too bad it didn’t combust at the same time…
