Earlier this week, Patrick Vallance — the United Kingdom’s Chief Scientific Advisor from 2018 to 2023 — gave testimony to the UK COVID-19 Inquiry. Vallance’s testimony drew headlines because in his 2020 diary entries, he wrote that Prime Minister Boris Johnson had been “bamboozled” by the science presented to him by his advisors.
This is essentially the playbook for every other western government to eschew responsibility. Of course he was bamboozled, doesn’t make him stupid. Everyone was, except for the players that knew the actual risks and pushed for insane measures regardless. In his book The Psychology of Totalitarianism, Mattias Desmet delves into the obsession with graphs and charts that provide lift-off for all sorts of mass formations, particularly the ones associated with Covid. He notes that the purpose of these visual aids is not to make a phenomenon more understandable, but to bombard the public with so much eye-catching fear porn that they will be terrified into going along with whatever solution is being offered.

Much like our EMA inquiry, there is a plethora of damning evidence, but it won’t matter.
BUT….at least they are taking a second look at the most impactful single gov’t act since WWII.

There are standardized protocols for risk assessment . These were never used. Fear and emotions took over. There also could well have been ulterior motives to drive the crisis- fortification and profits come to my mindset – but I apparently wear a tinfoil hat.

After reading this, one needn’t wonder why the governor of California, when confronted by massive wildfires caused by the failure of poorly maintained power lines and an utterly dysfunctional power company, determined it necessary to ban all forms of power transmission and handling and to force ever greater amounts of electricity through that same over-taxed and incapable infrastructure.
