Thank you for posting this very good article. I remember our father saying that “cash is king” during the early 1980’s recession, BEFORE interest rates climbed high. I “only” had to pay 16% on my house mortgage while some friends could only get a 20% one year term mortgage.
My sister and I have a funny feeling that it is time to “hunker down” again. Only spend what you absolutely need to spend. Based on my own personal history over the last 50 years, the next 2 years are going to be brutal because recessions weed out all of the bad players. Of course, this could all go crazy if we are indeed, in the end times.

activist wanker class. i was in the Galapagos this year on a private cruise . all of 20 of us. 18 of them exactly this class who thought they were saving the planet by flying half way around the world to scuba dive. being an oil guy I thanked them for their contribution to the industry having burnt 100 bbls each to get there.
I got top the top predator card from the crew after arguing that humans had every right to be where ever we got to . not just because of our large brain but because we had the highest endurance of any mammal . the most sophisticated heat adaptation , even without clothes. the ability to swim ,we have webbed hands and a fat layer over our entire body , save the eyelids . the ability to climb. and were the only only only upright mammal . any one of which could have put us on top of an ecosystem .
Sadly, our brains are shrinking.
