In sports that are dependent on skills other than speed, endurance, and raw power – say, archery or shooting – the difference in peak male and female performance may be negligible. But where such things are decisive – as in most sports – it requires a feat of ideological contortion – a kind of learned stupidity – to not concede the obvious.
Needless to say, stupidity ensues.

The reality of male superiority in strength and endurance will come as a literal punch in the face to these ding-a-lings who insist there’s no biological differences between men and women if any sport should be so stupid as to sanction a fight between a man and a woman. I’ve seen YouTube videos of male and female recruits sparring in pugil stick competitions and it’s not pretty. Like a sheep versus a wolf.
at the Olympic level, the differences are between 5% and 38% in terms of performance…

but that doesn’t stop the ideologues of “there are no differences between men and women, so transwomen should be able to participate in women’s sports”
This, from the “Scientific” American. Oh well, we’re in a world where literally means figuratively and vaccines don’t vaccinate.
So, where do I subscribe for the Unscientific American?
Despite all contrary evidence observed over hundreds (thousands?) of years by billions of people, “Science” has recently discovered that differences in sports performance between males and females is not due to physical or biological differences but, in fact, caused by social and cultural factors. A modern version of Lysenkoist scientific theory and research.
Science had a pretty good run. Sad to see it disappear. I think we might hate its replacement.
I’m old enough to remember when Scientific American was a respected publication, but that was over 20 years ago…
It truly does not matter in a few sports; just think Susan Nattrass.
