The Woke Destruction of Canada is Well Underway

No More Prayers on Remembrance Day, Military Tells Chaplain Service:

Canadians about to attend Remembrance Day ceremonies across the country could come across different proceedings than they’re used to, as the military has told its chaplain service that religious prayers in official public functions are now forbidden.

The move is part of the larger cultural change process in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) implemented by the Liberal government, which aims to put principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) at the core of the organization.

  1. WHAT A BUNCH OF BS……….is that because certain “immigrants” don’t like us infidels??

    1. It has nothing to do with immigrants. This is self-loathing and progressivism erasing religion. This applies to padres of all religions, including Muslims.

    1. Mad and TIRED – I would say it is more likely the existing demographic of CBC-fed liberals. An Uber driver from the Philippines told me he doesn’t send his children to school now that his wife is on mat leave. He was fed up with the gender-pronoun commandments that are impacting most Alberta schools. I think his kids had gone to a Catholic school. It isn’t the immigrants that are pushing the Woke agenda. That’s a made in Canada/USA/Europe etc. invention. Idle hands (and minds) are the devil’s workshop.

      1. There has to be some legs for that. Few immigrants would possess the things necessary to do much beyond eat, sleep and maybe get a job.

Having said that, it would be a requirement for turd’s crew of whores.

    2. That way the govt can deploy these immigrant military units against the populace. No way they could with regular Canadian personnel.

  2. Shelving religion is straight out of the Marxist playbook for there shall be nothing greater than the State.

    1. Bang-on. So is the nuclear family, which is why the commies push the marxist LGBTQWERTY lunacy

  3. I had to get up and walk off some of my anger, no wonder no one wants to serve in the Canadastan Military. Our history and traditions have been replaced via Progressive inclusive or should I say exclusive progressive values or lack there of. They can’t erase our Christian past fast enough, we shouldn’t tolerate this.

    1. I’m not being sarcastic when I state that I’m looking forward to when the pendulum swings our way and socialists/communists/woke are declared illegal, harshly punished and made to read about/watch everything we used to stand for, Clockwork Orange style.

I’m beyond tired watching our institutions, culture, and traditions being overrun by nihilistic Marxists. We can return to law and order and a polite society once this filth has been dealt with.

  4. I agree with the anonymous chaplain who happens to fear reprisals. What a comment on the current state of affairs. I’m not religious but I am in favour of traditions and honouring my military predecessors is part of that. This is what happens when the Chief of Defence Staff is a political yes-man.

  5. I served my country in the RCN for 37 years. Today, as a retired grumpy old officer I am ashamed to call myself a Canadian. If I could I would leave Canada. But at 72 where would I go as most countries have fallen prey to the woke BS. This PM of ours has to be defeated in the next election and the sooner the better.

  6. Doesn’t the Royal Canadian Legion hold most Remembrance Day ceremonies across the nation. They are not government funded for normal operations. They should just carry on in spite of the cultural cleansers and nihilists of the post-modern Trudeau-Marxist state.

      1. Not a proper state. The state is here to protect your rights, not to enforce your norms. Deal with it.

    1. Two points:

      1. UnMe: please tell you mom that I said “hi” and thank her on my behalf for such a fun time.

      2. If Pierre Poilievre wants to win even bigger than many of are hoping, an revitalization/reinvigoration of the Canadian Armed Forces should be a CENTRAL part of his platform. If the relevant parties who can do something about this are reading this, please take note

      1. Well of course CAF should be reinvigorated with things that matter: strategy, funding, and a procurement strategy that isn’t glorified regional economic development. Pierre is not going to do that, no matter how hard you pray on your own private time in your own private place.

        1. Well I’m gonna agree with you on that, Shithead, and I’m sure you don’t care.
To fight the present procurement system would be anti-jobs in the eyes of most Chinadians who worship Big Gov and PP isn’t going to do anything about Big Gov either for the same f**king reason.

        2. The military is a socialist institution. Milton Friedman

Amidst all the talk about defunding the police, notice something important: No one talks about defunding the military. That’s because the military establishment is too powerful and has come to be accepted as a permanent feature in American life. Except for libertarians, everyone treats the military as their god.
          https://www.fff.org/2023/01/31/why-not-defund-the-military/

Conservatives worship a triune false god: the Military-Industrial-Spying Complex. Your support for reinvigorating a socialist institution is at odds with your proclaimed libertarianism.

          1. Yeah the military-industrial complex sure is powerful in Canada: It takes 10 years to find a replacement pistol. A couple of decades to procure a dozen planes (fixed-wing SAR, Cyclone, etc). Canada is sure feeding the beast.

  7. “Therefore, it is essential for chaplains to adopt a sensitive and inclusive approach when publicly addressing military members,” says the directive signed by Chaplain General Brigadier General Guy Belisle.

What? No press conference to tender your resignation, General?
You know, honour and all that stuff….

So. How about an Ojibwe beating a drum and chanting to the Great Manitou? I bet that’ll be okay, eh?

    1. Indeed. My son who is a serving member of the CF is forced to attend mandatory smudging ceremonies all the time on formal parades. The CF replaced Chtistianity with paganism.

  8. // This in effect tells chaplains to refrain from referring to a “Heavenly Father.” //
If God is a woman, I’ll still go to Hell, but I’ll never know why.

It appears that they are basing their proposed changes on an attempt to answer the claims of this section of the advisory panel report
    https://www.canada.ca/en/department-national-defence/corporate/reports-publications/mnd-advisory-panel-systemic-racism-discrimination-final-report-jan-2022/part-iii-areas-of-opportunity-recommendations.html#toc5

    6. Re-Defining Chaplaincy

    1. This is stunning. They are setting themselves up as not only social but theological critics of Christian churches (and others) they disagree with. And it’s definitely not ok to send out missionaries, or even locally share your faith with someone:
“Some of the affiliated religions of these chaplains do not subscribe to an open attitude and the promotion of diversity.
“For example, some churches’ exclusion of women from their priesthoods violates principles of equality and social justice, as do sexist notions embedded in their religious dogmas. In addition, certain faiths have strict tenets requiring conversion of those they deem to be “pagan,” or who belong to polytheistic religions. These faiths’ dogmas and practices conflict with the commitment of the Defence Team to value equality and inclusivity at every level of the workplace.

“If the Defence Team rejects gender discrimination, anti-Indigenous discrimination, and racialized discrimination in every other area and is working hard to remove systemic barriers to the employment of marginalized people, it cannot justify hiring representatives of organizations who marginalize certain people or categorically refuse them a position of leadership.

“The Advisory Panel has observed that there are varying degrees of misogyny, sexism and discrimination woven into the philosophies and beliefs of some mainstream religions currently represented in the cadre of chaplains in the CAF…. “

      1. “They are setting themselves up as not only social but theological critics of Christian churches (and others) they disagree with.” Ditto. They are so full of hubris -and themselves- that they appoint themselves as the arbiter of what God should say.

  9. If I didn’t respect the people on this board, Kate and the people who work for her, I would swear. Loudly and repeatedly.

  10. The Legion is nobody’s friend.
They have obviously become Liberal sycophants as well.
Do you remember how they happily went along with the Covid segregation policies??
Would have been nice to have someone, anyone, stand up and tell the nanny state NO!

    1. “The Legion is nobody’s friend.
They have obviously become Liberal sycophants as well.”

Didn’t they try to ban the sale of poppies once, or something?

  11. Typical of the egregious politicized leadership to let this pass; but trans high heels on the battlespace is all good! 🙂
Of course the organization can pass into the long goodnight, as they have become ‘post national’
just like Justin the homewrecker intended.

  12. Here’s a way for the military to save money: get rid of chaplains. I find it so funny that we still have these. Like finding a top-end computer with a floppy drive.

    1. Another way to save money would be to get rid of progressive policies that get in the way, like… well… Pick one. There are many to choose from.

    2. When FILTHY Low T beta men suggest we rid ourselves of the Chaplains, they expose themselves for what they are. Nothing more than arrogant miserable people who think man is God. When no God is around, EVIL always fills the vacuum.

You sir, are incredibly reckless and stupid, and know nothing about building culture and respect with a group of Alphas.

  13. Why do they listen to this corrupt Government at all… obviously they agree with the fascists ruling over the imbeciles.
What about the Turdhole Charter… doesnt that protect… oops…never mind…. that was a joke.

  14. Given that the vast majority of Rememberance Day ceremonies occur in villages, towns and cities and not on federally owned or controlled lands, I think the response could go something like this…
    1) Military Chaplains should be allowed to attend as observers.
    2) Any prayers should be offered by civilian clergy.
    3) When introducing the Clergy, the Chair of the event (Mayor, Legion President, etc.) should briefly explain that at other rememberance services controlled by the federal government, such prayers would not be allowed and that any objections (or support) should be referred to the Minister of National Defence.
    4) Attendees should be provided with the Minister’s contact information.

I think this could put significant pressure where it belongs and maybe, just maybe could get rid of this “woke” crap.

  15. So diversity is our strength is coming with a vengence, who would have thought. It is well past time that the Canadians whose ancestors helped form, and those who came later to defend, this country stood up for what they themselves believe rather that swallowing the unadulterated muck and swill that has been force fed on them by Liberal governments, past and present. The continuation of present policies have been unmitigated disasters and if allowed to continue will ensure a total erasure of what was once a free and sovereign people.

  16. A long while back, an ex CAF military friend who served during the Chretien years, said most of those in the military called that time “the dark years”. I wonder what the current forces members will call these Trudeau years? This thin skinned narcissistic abomination that is currently destroying the country, is doing it deliberately and with malice, all to please his WEF masters.

How is it that he has NOT been removed from office with prejudice?

  17. Trudeau and his fellow socialists must go before it is too late for the Canada we once knew and loved!!

  18. In a perfect world Pierre would announce that military effectiveness will be the touchstone after the next election and that the number of generals will be capped at 100. Woke generals will be offered retirement or a firing squad. I would enjoy watching the panic.

  19. In WWI the vast majority of Canadians identified as Christians. That was still true in WW2 and the Korean War. Even now, after decades of relentless secularism, it is still a little over 50%.

The soldiers that fought and died (or were forever maimed) for our freedoms were mostly Christian, then, of one stripe or another. It would seem to me that Remembrance Day, in which we remember their sacrifice, needs to also respect their faith. since they were also fighting for the freedom of belief. To ban prayers or Scripture reading just makes the whole affair a cruel joke.

I sometime wonder if they would have joined up and fought if they had known what Canada would become in a few decades.

  20. Can’t make that link work. Epoch Times wants to force me to create an account, but won’t accept any email I enter. Screw ‘em.

  21. Trudeau’s marching order to the previous diversity-hire MND was culture change. Diversity was thus being interpreted as anything LGBTQ+; then came BLM and race was included in the mix. There is now a (female) 3 star in charge of culture change. As a reminder, the Chief of the AIr Force, Navy and Army are 3 stars, so that gives you an idea of the priority accorded to this initiative. Annual personnel evaluations now include a DEI score, generated by the software through an algorithm; the variables are not controlled or inputed by the reviewing officer. It spits out a cute little paragraph usually enjoining members to do better, without specifics… There is a guide to help people do better, like “having difficult conversations” or “promote diversity”, etc. No word on how much this affects promotions. Lots of “diverse” or minorities are being promoted or apppointed out of proportion to their relative numbers. Suck-up careerist get righ on board with it; fly the groomer flag on bases during pride month and paint rainbow crosswalks. LGBTQ+ ambassadors and safe spaces. Ideological Komissar positions at units (Wings or Bases) to handle this stuff, to make sure personnel comport themselves. I wish I was making this up. The military has stong attachment to its history and it is being destroyed and re-written. There are still good people in the CF trying to get things done, despite all this crap. Methinks the direction DND and the CF is going will not attract many “new Canadians” who generally don’t put up with this crap. Where the CF has fallen is not lost on our allies.

  22. How are they going to stop anyone from praying? Regardless of function.
I would suggest for everyone so inclined to gather together at said remembrance day observance, and pray out vocally, as loud as one can muster.
