As the money tree withers under inflation…
Speaking at a New York Times event, [Bill Gates] observed that heavy-handed policies won’t work: “If you try to do climate brute force, you will get people who say, ‘I like climate but I don’t want to bear that cost and reduce my standard of living.’”
As Gates noted, many of these people are in middle-income countries, like China and India, that are the biggest contributors to carbon emissions today and whose emissions (unlike those of the United States) have been growing.
He also rained on the greens’ apocalyptic parade, saying “no temperate country is going to become uninhabitable.”
And he cautioned against untested approaches like massive tree planting: “Are we the science people or are we the idiots? Which one do we want to be?”
Well, the climate policies the political system supports are mostly the ones likely to yield the most graft, and those the corporate world supports are mostly the ones involving massive government subsidies.
But it’s interesting to see Gates softening his tone; it feels as if climate outrage has passed its sell-by date.

So, now our trajectory to hell is only accelerating at 9.9 gees instead of 10, and we call that a victory.
SMH.
The left would love to believe that ideology trumps reality. They go nuts trying to convince themselves of that.
For them, screaming = truth. No wonder so many have mental issues.
In the end, the earth got along just fine without us, with us, and will do so after us. Screaming ain’t gonna change that but it may make life hell for us.
Since mr Gates did such a great job with Microsoft/Windows, yeah sure let him handle mass forced vaccinations + why not even fix the planet. Hey, give him also that project re worms/insects as main nutrition source for the proles.
Forward, Comrades!
Subterfuge, plain and simple. This is a common tactic. Make all kinds of “reasonable” speeches, and then do the opposite. Example: Inflation Reduction Act is packed to the gills with hardcore climate change legislation that punches the middle class right in the face while claiming to be something else entirely (and comically)…because the vast majority of the public is functionally retarded (or so ideologically conditioned so as to appear so).

You get it! Billy Grates has been doing that for years now, and most people were blind to it. ButtBilly only made about 36 BILLION on the pfizer scamdemic drug. He bought an additional 500,000 shares of BioNtech in 2019, just before scamdemic arrival.
Right on! A blatant head fake
On the face of it this may seem meaningless, but the admission itself looks like a major climb-down to me. Who would have believed that someone as politically connected and with the massive reach and resources of Bill Gates would ever say anything to cast the least bit of doubt on The Narrative?
The truth has been out there for some time, and widely ignored. This will be noticed.
Gates has more interest in future food supplies and pandemics; that’s where he sees the money to be made.

Yup, these elitist IDIOTS are coming to the realization that they will be just as effected as the prolls!
Something I’v said to quite a few in real life. The saying goes”when they run out of Jews”.
hmmmph
So now that Gates has heavily invested in farmland, his fav greenie tech and pharma companies with subsidies and given mega $$$ to so-called lefty charities, he’s off the green file.
He knows that the great re-set will be an upcoming nasty recession and planting trees will not fix it.
And the amount of .223s aimed his way will turn him to paste.
Elon Musk… after hearing that Bill Gates had spent over a billion dollars shorting Tesla stock;
“How can someone say they are passionate about fighting climate change and then do something that reduced the overall investment in the company doing the most?” …. “It’s pure hypocrisy. Why make money on the failure of a sustainable energy car company?”
… “At this point, I am convinced that he is categorically insane (and an assh@le to the core) I did actually want to like him.”
Must be an alien invasion, comet strike or cyber disaster coming instead.
“are we the science people, or are we the idiots”.
We are the science idiots. Pretty clear to me.
It helps that, given the BRICs are unabashedly pursuing prosperity by adopting high density energy meaning coal, petroleum, hydro and nuclear which makes net zero even more impossible than even western magical thinking, the idea of pursuing western post modern energy poverty is essentially the same as a compound of self flagellators being laughed at by passers by.
In what world is planting trees idiotic?
Fruit/nut trees/lumber bad!!! ?!
Back in the 1950s they planted one species of tree in B.C. Pine trees. 60 years later these sick forests are dying. Presently, when the plant mixed species of trees they follow up with years of herbicide and pesticide delivered by low-flying helicopters to make sure those trees survive.
I wouldn’t say planting trees is idiotic. I would say the way we plant trees is.
Trees are planted according to the ecology of the sites (generally the same species from local provenance as existing on site) prior to harvest and have been for the last 30 to 40 years in BC. Douglas Fir was planted on the Coast prior to the 50s but most sites relied on natural regeneration of trees (up until the seventies) with cones present after harvest. There has been an historical bias toward conifers which, up until the last 20 years were the most valuable. OSB in the interior has been a boon to Aspen and other poplars and on the coast, Alder is now commercially significant. Herbicides are used sparingly and only in the brushiest sites once or twice until the conifers get above the brush. Current usage is down to the 10% (of plantations) range.
I recommend getting information from sources other than hysteria-pimping NGOs.
My next band will now be called the “Hysteria Pimps”.
I’d like the sciency types to calculate what the temp of the planet would be if CO2 was 7000 ppm. And what the impact to the earth would be.
Even MY beans would grow!
