I’ve visited the Juno Beach Centre twice. I enjoyed each visit immensely. The entire reason for their existence is to commemorate and celebrate the brave men & women who fought for the freedom of all.
Yet they have the audacity to post what they did below? This is absolutely disgraceful and it’s good to see that they’re being roundly ratioed. They should be absolutely ashamed by this and ALL involved with this post should either resign or be fired.

Silly me. I thought Tamara Lich and my tax money supported the boneheads over there.
Funny thing, some people died attempting to preserve our fragile freedoms and now some are being chastised for exhibiting those same freedoms.

So not, “We neither support nor defend Ms Lich’s or the Freedom Convoy’s actions”. It seems they do have a political opinion after all unrelated to their mission.
It’s so bloody sad and ironic. I can’t remember which book on Juno that had a CBC reporters story of what he saw at sunset the day of the battle. He came upon some wire at the top of the beach with a dead Canadian soldier sprawled across it. In his mouth was a unlit cigarette, and laying below was a lighter. The reporter picked it up and it was full of sand.
All the dying lad wanted was a cigarette and his lighter wouldn’t work.
Imagine having the grace to accept your fate, and your little but grand reward – one last haul of a cigarette was denied to you as well.
Ah that spirit of understanding and depth in our youth is I fear just about dead.

Two words: government money.
1) Entirely expected and exactly what they always do. Circle the wagons, say and do ANYTHING to keep the money flowing.
2) Every one of them should be fired, and the government money cut off. Charity is supposed to be -charitable- not commercial.
It’s a monument. People either care about it, or they don’t. That’s how life is.
Did the Beach Centre post anything political about the monument? I doubt it … so why respond to what THEY perceive as political statement with an even MORE political statement? Politics is NOT their job. If the monument has political activist employees who use their government position to push their political viewpoint … then FIRE them. NOW.
The whole thing is government. Millions upon millions of dollars spent to push [insert this week’s Liberal issue here] wearing war veteran’s sacrifice as a cloak of respectability.
Or, another way to look at it, it is money laundering. The government gives them tax money, they spend it the way the government tells them to (what they don’t outright steal, anyway), and everyone pretends is has something to do with a war memorial.
Expand that to include every single thing the government does, from public health to road maintenance, and you have the Canadian government.
The authors of that are Federal Government employees. The Federal Government has been mobilized against freedom loving and freedom fighting Canadians.
Shame and a pox on them all.
If you read about the Juno Centre, they are, in fact, a VERY politically “woked” organization, and likely staffed by Quebecers, who are most likely to speak French from that region of France and to fit in well in Normandy (from where many of their fur trading ancestors came from), including possibly the Director of Communications. Hmm – who approved the twitter message from the Juno Centre?
The centre is “all over the woke “sustainable development” file and re-writing WW2 history to include those MANY (sarc on) francophones who served and signed up, despite the fact that Quebec was fervently against conscription in both wars!

This is a great example of how to alienate the deceased founder and the mainly anglophone vet supporters who actually partly sustain the Juno Centre’s existence. The rest comes out of Canadian tax payer’s wallets.
Many of the vets likely silently or actively supported the trucker rally, including truckers from Quebec, “who think differently”. The legal trashing of Tamara Lich et. al is unbelievable. The vets fought for freedoms that are being demolished, step by step.

A revolution that smelled blood.. The Covid DEBACLE was over before the first truck even rolled.. Trudeau’s government, all governments knew this.. Tamara had the nerve to interfere with their damage control.. For that sin she will never be forgiven..
Such a shame.. Trudeau could have offed an olive branch and the Ottawa protest would have been over after a 3 day party.. It wasn’t to be.. The wrong kind of strong woman..
As for our Vets.. Stop dragging their dead bodies through the streets.. They didn’t fight and die for multiculturalism or even freedom.. They fought for Canada and the man in the foxhole next to him..
We were FREE to say no to the mRNA shot and 50% took it anyway even though they didn’t want it.. Is that the freedom you speak of?..
The trucker support had very little to do with Tamara – it was a national grass roots reaction that had minimal organization! Personally, I donated early, so was re-funded from the gofundme people, before my bank account was frozen.
Lich should have known this is Canada.

As a former CAF Soldier and a historian buff, I realized DECADES ago, seeing the way Canada was heading, is that in WWII they all died for nothing.
They died for 3 objectives:
1. To help bail out Communism as it seemed to teeter on the brink of collapse in Fall 1941.
2. To help reimpose Communism on former Soviet territory as the Germans retreated after Overlord/Bagration.
3. To help the USSR impose Communism upon Christian* countries that never asked to live under Communist Party rule.
* Albania isn’t Christian.
Such a shame that we lost that war.
Well, Canada fought, and Canadians died, in the first place to prove that we recognized it as our duty to do so, because we were British – either national British, or otherwise committed to the Empire. In that we succeeded. Whether it was worth the sacrifice is a rather different question, as is what we actually achieved, but no one can doubt that Britain called and Canada answered.
As to losing the war, well, we entered the war against Germany on the side of Britain, and her ally France, and Poland, and that war was lost before we could put our army into the field. The remarkable thing about WW2 is that we see it as one continuous war, but in fact the war that started in September 1939 was over by Christmas. Our side lost; Poland was partitioned by the enemy. But we refused to make peace, and a new and different war broke out in 1940. Our side lost; France fell.
If you stop here, then yes, we lost the war. We certainly lost the war we signed up for. But of course there was more. The British refused to make peace, and were able to do so because the presence of the now fully mobilized Canadian Army in England meant that the Germans could not sail over unopposed even though they’d knocked out the British Army. They had to win the Battle of Britain first. And they couldn’t do that, largely because a Canadian (indeed, a sometime Calgarian) named Max could put planes in the air faster than Goering could shoot them down.
And of course, Canada was at D-Day and held fast in the face of the fiercest counterattack the Germans could muster, and might well have saved the landing; and wasn’t just on, but contributed importantly to, the winning side in the main show, but we didn’t exactly win it, did we?
Before D-Day, Canadians practised amphibious landings at Dieppe, and river crossings in Italy.
