    1. “Refugees”? … try “Invaders” … and a smattering of local bums, psychos, and drug addicts. Don’t your carbon taxes give the government enough resources to properly house these scoundrels?

    2. Maybe they’re homeless people who were kicked out of the hostels to make room for refugees. Nothing would surprise me these days.

    1. … so you’ve not seen Dr. Zhivago? You didn’t see Omar Sharif’s Townhouse TAKEN to house the proletariat? If your communist government can seize your bank accounts … they can certainly seize your property deeds … “eminent domain”

    2. Very simple: if a couple owns a house with 3 bedrooms, they will have to accommodate 2 refugee couples or a refugee family with kids.
I could provide more details, but it’s too late now, I will go to bed.

      1. Build ’em new accommodations on all the condo sites that never got built. And no cheaping-out on those, BTW; remember, à la San Francisco, “Everybody deserves a granite countertop…”

  1. Put them in the CBC building.
Put them in the many city halls in the GTA.
All the downtown parks have tents already.

Olivia Chow will turn us into San Francisco.

    1. rich
This is still John fvck the hired help Tory’s hold over, give Chow a chance to improve on it , she can out perform Tory!
Chow cow is a pro at grifting.

    1. Indeed. While 20 years ago most of the nodding hard core addicts were in downtown east side, after the “decriminalization” doped folks are spreading around. While I pray for their recovery and financially support organizations that support and *TRY* to rehabilitate hardcore addicts (and, unfortunately, my ability to do so is shrinking, thanks to highly inflating measures of the BlackFace regime – and others around the world…), more and more people are close to someone that is one psychotic episode away from harming them. My children are young adults/late teens. I don’t think they enjoy the same degree of safety as those who spent their youth in the old “GVRD”.

    2. Was about to say. I live in Australia ( born and bred) but work for a Canadian company. The last 25 yrs have been going to Vancouver at least once a year and the growth in homeless and drug addicts sleeping on the sidewalk downtown is astronomical.

  2. Our daughter and son-in-law recently spent almost a month in Italy and Bordeaux. They commented on the noteable absence of bums in the downtown cores of the cities they visited; quite a contrast to their hometown of Ottawa.

  3. I enjoy a weekly phone call with my “brother from another mother”. When I told him about sda’s new name for Toronto (Chowtown) he laughed and then told me all about these encampments. He refuses to take public transport and uses his SUV daily (mind you, he is a “road warrior” for work). He came to Toronto in 1975, has lived on Huntley Street for 43 years and hates what has happened to “his” Toronto. And yes, he actually voted against Olivia Chow. He knows lots of people who complain about Mayor Chow but who did not vote. He tells them to “STFU if they did not vote” and that they are a part of the problem. As a working adult, it is necessary to at least vote in elections. As we all know “elections have consequences”.

    1. At a family christmas dinner some 7 years ago, one of the guests was a young guy (25-ish) visiting from Toronto. I asked him what he thought of Rob Ford, amid groans from the younger family members with snippy comments like “let’s talk about religion next”. The young guy said he didn’t vote so he didn’t really care. My response to him was, “You will one day”. He moved to Calgary 3 years ago. I wonder if he votes now, and for who.
