The Peace Loving Left

According to the FBI, there were more than 2,500 bombings reported over a year and a half period
between 1971 and 1972.
BRYAN BURROUGH:
These bombings became so commonplace, people just rolled their eyes, because 99 out of 100 didn’t hurt
somebody. And it’s one reason, I’ve argued, that they were so easily forgotten, because they were just a part of a
backdrop to a very troubled time in American cities.
By the mid-’70s, what you saw was an FBI that had basically thrown up its hands. There was little sense of
pressure politically and certainly from ordinary Americans out in Des Moines. In Ohio, they were much more
concerned about gas prices, about grocery prices than some idiot radicals blowing up a building in the Bronx. It
just drifted from being a top-10 national priority to one that you’d have to say was not in the top 50.

      1. in my formal retroactive studies of that time that l lived thru, l learned that black panther leadership was SERIOUSLY chauvinistic. aka the wymyn ‘had their place’ in the kitchen and in the bed and that was it.
such hypocrisy, a common earmark of the left.

  1. True, overlooked and never talked about because we know exactly what the political leanings were of these criminals. Same story with Quebec, had no idea how much bombing was going on before the FLQ really flared up.

    1. part of that story is a bunch of them hived off to coobah guests of fidel.
they must have got real bored because [some] were allowed to return.
turdeau 1.0 had a lot to do with the thing but details escape me.
Canaduh is completely scaREWED with a history like this of pampering radicals.

      1. Of course they were allowed to return, exactly something Canada would do. Like giving Khadr $10M for no reason at all. Of course they got bored, no Quebecois language in Cuba.
