Ian Runkle looks at the outrageous verdict against Peter Khill who was guilty of self defense against a native. Who was originally found not guilty and so the crown appealed the case until they got their scalp.
Any judge or court that charges a man with a crime for defending himself needs to be shut down and we need to be able to defend ourselves against the courts and the police. Canada and Canadians are way too stupid.
Yes.
In 2000, during the early days following the finding of the Titanic, a Russian submersible was caught up in the wreckage. One of the submersible’s passengers reiterates his experience.
The article (from Yahoo News, which makes CBC and Pravda look like beacons of responsible journalism) points out that the sub always launched in international waters, well outside the territorial waters of Canada and the U.S. For this, I postulate two reasons:
1) – Titanic itself is ‘waaay out in international waters, 200 miles from the nearest point of land, and
2) If they’d launched that sub in any nation’s territorial waters (and most particularly Canada’s or the U.S.’s), they’d’ve been arrested on the spot by the nearest Coast Guard ship and the sub confiscated, and a lengthy safety review would’ve put them out of business for good. An example (and I have ref’s (Instapundit lists) if anybody wants ’em) – the viewing dome on the front of the sub was rated to 1,300 meters depth; Titanic is at 4,000 meters. Why was the dome rated for only a third of the depth they routinely went to? – because OceanGate refused to pay for one rated to the full depth; and by “refused”, I interpret that as “couldn’t afford”. Likewise, the CEO didn’t want any “experienced 50-year-old white men” on the team, which I interpret as, experienced 50-year-old white men would either flatly refuse to climb in that deathtrap, or would want far more money than OceanGate could pay them.
“Isn’t it ironic” that most of the men out there looking for them, are experienced 50-year-old white men?
Two bits of “latest news”. The good; a RCAF Aurora reports tapping noises that “may” correspond to deliberate efforts, suggesting they’re still alive and trying to signal the surface. And, bad; USCG says they’ve found a debris field – yahoo [dot] com, news, rescuers last desperate push final 040509365 – the picture shown is hopefully what the USCG found, because there’s nothing there that any self-respecting sub would be carrying-along on a trip to the Titanic; it looks awfully like crockery the Titanic would have hundreds of pieces of.
Sorry, all: Hagar (well down below) says it’s all over for them; according to the BBC, the debris field is identifiable as coming from the sub. At the very least, it would’ve ended quickly; if the crew capsule failed they’d’ve been crushed instantly, likely never even noticed they were dead.
Award winning journalist Rachel Gilmore is outraged at that stupid moron Elon Musk.
Why? Because of Musk’s homophobic new rule for Twitter:
“Repeated targeted harassment against any account will cause the harassing accounts to receive, at minimum, temporary suspensions. The words “cis” or “cisgender” are considered slurs on this platform.”
Check Jordan Schachtel’s latest stack with an interview with Dr. Norman Pieniazek.
Some highlights:
‘So, the virus was called SARS-CoV-2 to create panic;’
‘However, no one at the doctor’s office has shoved anything up your nose because it didn’t matter what infected you’
Q ‘ You are the preacher of the thesis that we must reject all scientific papers published after March 2020.’
Lithium ion batteries are setting waste dumps on fire.
“It’s the same location that we’ve had multiple fires over the last couple of years,” Interim Fire Chief Chris Paul said. “This is the third or fourth time we’ve been (there) in the last two years.”
“In each case, he added, the culprit has been the same: A lithium ion battery carelessly discarded with the regular trash, which exploded after being inadvertently driven over by a large machine like a front-end loader.
“People aren’t disposing of their batteries properly and they end up in a garbage pile like that,” said the acting chief.
Once they explode, the batteries smoulder in the typically large fuel load to be found in a waste transfer building, in this case a 25-foot pile of garbage made up largely of construction waste like wood, insulation, and drywall.”
Good! I hope this happens more often because 1. it will expose the inherent weakness and financial liabilities of the lithium ion batteries and 2. it will help reduce the size of landfills.
I have a question “Is Toronto still trucking its daily garbage to the abandoned mine shafts in the Michigan peninsula area as they were doing over 20 years ago?” If so, that does a heck of a lot of damage to the environment with CO2 emissions and to the road surfaces.
I firmly believe that you should make the NDP and others on the left live up to their impossible demands on the right side of the aisle.
Pick it up and eat it is what the greenmorons should do. Call it soiled green. They can keep eating until they have paid for their genocidal ways. Which will not ever end.
Yes they are.
