Anheuser-Busch InBev has changed marketing leadership for Bud Light in the wake of controversy over the brand sending a can to transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney with her face on it.
Alissa Heinerscheid, marketing VP for the brand since June 2022, has taken a leave of absence, the brewer confirmed, and will be replaced by Todd Allen, who was most recently global marketing VP for Budweiser.
Heinerscheid did not immediately respond to an email requesting comment.
Smaller fish: The Regina YWCA deletes a tweet.
Update: “A boulder in a lake…”

“…sending a can to transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney with her face on it.”
Make that HIS face on it.
Fixed it for ya.
IT’s face on it.
Any way you call it, this was one of the most arrogant, and ignorant marketing calls in three decades. Shit on your customers, they’ll buy more!
Too little too late.
This. I’m with “Buck Throckmorton” on this one. This isn’t about making amends any more, this is about taking a scalp. Budweiser as a brand has to be destroyed as a warning to others.
Yup, as was said about Trump and his kind , namely conservatives, by David Plouffe, ” his kind must be thoroughly destroyed and never allowed to rise again “.
So should we do likewise to them.
Bang-on. They had a chance to repent and recover and totally blew it: their CEO’s word salad statement wasn’t close to an apology and was trashed roundly. Add to that their nauseating and pandering follow up commercial that -amazingly – even had the gall to tug on 9/11 heartstrings, and it’s clear that this cabal of woke idiots learned nothing.
Dumping this pampered and privileged moron of brand VP is a sop; she’s not even “pursuing other interests” but merely on leave; the CEO should be sent packing, too. And a formal mea culpa from the AB-InBev CEO apologizing contritely for insulting their customer base and injecting their warped woke ideas of social engineering when they should have been focusing on selling product is a start. Maybe there’s forgiveness somewhere in the hearts of outraged customers, but I’m skeptical: the idea that senior leadership knew nothing about this lunacy is an obvious lie: they were pandering for a high CEI score and it blew up in their faces.
Agree with “take scalps”, and not just a few woke execs: total destruction of bud light and perhaps AB is needed pour encourager les autres

I agree 100 percent. The CEO and Senior Management team should be turfed. Or “given the gate” as they say.
@mhb – And all the Clydesdales are geldings. Ha!
Face it AB InBev. There’s nowhere to turn. You can’t win.
I never drank that water that identifies as beer anyways.
HA!
Water that identifies as beer …
American beers are like having sex in a canoe.
Geez….I don’t know about that. Sex in a canoe was kinda fun and exciting.
American beer, not so much.
It’s an old Monty Python joke. “Sex in a canoe” = “f***ing close to water”.
AB InBev own many brands that aren’t called Budweiser. The Belgian company is far removed from Anheuser-Busch. I was smugly drinking a Miller High life when I found they were also owned by AB InBev. Maybe you can’t win. Where’s my Spotted Cow?
Corona. Modelo. Lucky. Kokanee. Blue. Stella. A Keith.
Yup, all owned by InBev as well.
Isn’t Miller owned by Molson Coors?

Miller Highlife? i don’t give a rat’s ass about who makes it, but try a Grolsch, an actual beer, or any of the many craft IPA’s available from small brewers.
I wish I could buy Sleeman products here but they are unavailable so I usually buy Spotted Cow from New Glarus sold only in Wisconsin. I mentioned Miller High Life when I read that IB owned it but I stand corrected it’s Molson Coors. I buy it occasionally because it’s cheap and surprisingly drinkable. I’ve had Grolsch that tasted like horse piss, however. It’s not what it once was at least not what they’re importing.
“I wish I could buy Sleeman products here ”
Sleemans Honey Brown…mmmmm….. 🙂
The number of beers available that aren’t made by multinationals is staggering. It’s simple–or should be–to buy locally or regionally.
Myself, I buy Alberta craft brewers almost exclusively, but I sometimes get a draft Guinness at a licensed establishment.
Nobody should be surprised that the Regina YWCA man is a MSW, and no doubt a local graduate of Canada’s 87th best university.
I stopped donating to YWCA long ago when they kept up with their all women are victims narrative
These are my 3 favourites. Sneaky Weasel (Lager) from Balderdash brewing is good and brewed in Vancouver. Red Truck Beer (lager) Vancouver and Spitfire Lager, Ace Brewing Courtenay, BC.
My favorite beer is Budweiser…not that fairy pee from A-B, but the lager brewed in the Czech Republic and marketed in Canada as Czechvar. In Europe, its label says Budweiser.
Taking a can to a knife fight…

I guess I’ll just stick with my Saskatchewan home brew. Made by men with nuts, for men with nuts.
“A Modest Question…” re Budweiser’s Clydesdale horses and their latest ads

“”Well, that explains a lot…
So Bud is showing a nutless horse to emphasize their nutless ad and brand promoter… Got it!”
Oh, ya beat me to it, another ian. I was trying to spread the word in a reply up above. I hadn’t made it down to your post here.
Hmmm….you mean they actually might have *learned* something from all of this?
That would be a first.
depends on if it’s a paid “leave of absence” or not…
Bingo. There is a great case study for what not to do in business. Remember “new Coke”? If you pull the rug out from under your core customers, don’t be surprised if the board of directors ask you to take an extended leave.
Heinerscheid is taking a super leave of absence. IYKYK.
Its not the gay or the transgenders.. Its a product aligning itself with a political movement.. While idiot frat culture is a thing its never on the ballot.. One is a harmless emotion while the other seeks to control you..
Oh its about the people.. Oh its about their rights.. No, its not its about you..
Environmentalism pulled it off THEIR product placement because nobody really gives a scht about the planet.. We approve the concept :).. Its also a political movement that’s running out of steam on my beer can.. But even they knew better to keep it in the small print..
Politics on your product?.. Democrat beer??.. What were they thinking?
Royale toilet paper is now carbon neutral. So there’s that.
I watched part of the ‘boulder in the lake’ video and found conversation a bit funny. The guy in the touque was trying to differentiate between mental illness and being truly trans. Sorry to break it to you son but being genuinely trans (gender dysphoria) is being mentally ill. No different than the narcissist he believes Dylan to be. As for the beer the markets itself with horses and sponsors Nascar……Sucks to be you. I rather doubt there will be any coming back from this debacle. I hope the rest of the corporations stop the diversity hires and look for competence above all else.
Jesse Kelly had a good monolog on this the other night. He likened it to the days of public execution.
When the town had a hanging, everybody went. You brought your kids, the churches led their congregation to attend….
Mideval Europe, they skinned people alive and hung the rotting skin from the castle wall.
A signpost for all to see, this is what happens when you accost decent society.
We need the skin of AB hanging on the castle wall. I hope, when people see it can be done, we pick another company and tack their skin up too.
Careful there mn guy,you are describing the entire platform of The Retribution Party,of Canada.
It can’t be fixed, not before the parasitic overload is culled.
Hanged and left to rot,is a message every bandit comprehends.
But the Fools? God help us all,for there is no defence or structure that can protect us from well intentioned fools.
Banishment Worked.
Watching Bud Inc flailing about is great comedy.
They may as well shut up,for they offended huge numbers of women and women remember every slight.
