Your Moral And Intellectual Superiors

Jamil Jivani;

Two weeks ago, the Canada Strong and Free Network (CSFN) hosted Canada’s biggest conservative networking event of the year. I am president of CSFN and helped organize the three-day conference in Ottawa.

In a series of bizarre actions, CTV News, which is owned by Bell Media, tried to harm CSFN and our event:

• CTV did not seek media accreditation to cover the conference, which made CTV an outlier compared to other media outlets. We accredited 70+ journalists from Global News, CBC, Toronto Star, The Globe and Mail, Western Standard, National Post, True North, The Post Millenial, The News Forum and more.

• Instead of practicing journalism like their peers, CTV opted to watch our Facebook livestream and selectively edit and post video clips of the conference on Twitter, in an attempt to take our speakers out of context and make them look bad.

• CTV downloaded a portion of our copyrighted conference content featuring Stephen Harper and Preston Manning. CTV then uploaded the video to their YouTube channel without permission. CTV repoducing our content took away from our organization’s views and online engagement.

Bell’s conduct is what you’d expect from online trolls, not the biggest media corporation in Canada. But readers familiar with my racial discrimination lawsuit against Bell can connect the dots.

  1. I have no doubt that Bell is seeking retribution against Jamil for his lawsuit.

Good for him for calling them out in regards to both the conference as well as his dismissal from Newstalk 1010.

I think Jamil is great and was pleasantly surprised to see his name in Vivek Ramaswamy’s book “Woke, Inc.”.

  2. CTV News is owned by Bell Media

Keep following the money trail. Who owns Bell Media? The major banks, maybe? The plutocratic corporatists like Blackrock, State Street, Fidelity, JP Morgan, Vanguard, et al.?

The same government-connected institutions that were all to happy to provide aid and comfort to Freeland when she wanted to shut down bank accounts of people who supported legitimate protests against government tyranny.

CTV downloaded a portion of our copyrighted conference content

This is an insightful observation. We should be demanding the “news” media start compensating the people and issues they “report” on. Forget the BS government legislation that protects their crony media agencies, and requires reimbursement by people who link to stories. Make the media corporations pay for exploiting the original sources they report on and profit from. (I use the term profit loosely, as these agencies are heavily subsidized and are effectively arms of the government).

  3. Stephen Harper kept kissing ass at CTV and kept approving every merger that allowed them near monopoly control of telecommunications in Canada. All CTV worked hard at was to destroy Stephen Harper. Conservatives wield power in Canada like limp wristed fairies.

        1. Of course he wasn’t.

WEF arseholes actually get things done.

          ha

          1. cgh,
don’t mix up useful and getting things done. Trudeau and his band of idiots have absolutely transformed this country at record speed. Not for the good, they’re destroying it at breakneck speed. Harper didn’t get a 1/10th of the things accomplished Trudeau has.

        2. He was bragging to the WEF about how in tripled legal immigration.
You are controlled, but not even opposition.

      1. fc
tell your friend to do a little homework before he gets you to front another question.

  4. The bribed press can carry on without consequence because it can run on taxpayer money.

    Until that depletes.

    Until then …

    1. The billionaire owners of all the major news media will tolerate any amount of red ink because organs like CTV ensure that citizens are kept ignorant, misinformed and fearful – perfect cover for the elitists’ schemes.

  5. CTV always strikes me as the even dimmer cousin of CBC (hard to believe that’s possible, but there you have it).

    Their half-hour national news formula?

Fifteen minutes of bad reporting on the usual notions and nostrums then – boom! – 15 more minutes of dog-bites-man human interest stories and other tedious fluff.

    Yawn.

(Oh, and I’m tempted to believe that CTV poached from Facebook and Twitter simply because it was easier and cheaper.)

  6. I lost faith in CTV news when they actually stated that instead of reporting news that their aim is to direct society.

  7. CTV is part of the Laurentian Elite, and they know the route to power in a corruptocracy like Canada is through the government. Corporate insiders and the Librano Party insiders are one big happy incestuous family, rigging the game and them congratulating themselves on how clever they are. They are just ethically and morally bankrupt whores, but well paid ones.

  8. Remember their “making your world make sense” billboard campaign?

The World – shows something very complicated (freeway interchange in Los Angeles)
The World according to CTV news – shows something very simple (back country dirt road with a “one-way” sign).

Not even hiding the mission, bragging about it.

    1. The Real Andy Lee Show on twitter reports Egale is drumming up support to have Fox news kicked off our airways and CRTC has approved 9 CCP chinese shows for our airwaves. Oh CanOfDuh!!!

  9. I stopped watching CTV, Global right around the time that I stopped watching CBC. At that time, only CBC was funded by the Feds and yet like little lemmings, CTV and Global were indistinguishable from the CBC. How could this be? They all were singing out of the same Hymn book and the same teletype. There was never anything original nor thinking that was not a part of the approved narrative.

That was the late 80s. Nothing has changed nor will it ever.

    They are dead to me.

Same here (except that I had never watched the CBC).

Back when I was reading 2-3 newspapers a day (plus small local ones) it didn’t take long to figure out that the TV news was only giving me part of the story…the part that they approved of. Without the papers I would have had no idea how much information was being either distorted or just not reported on.

    2. Frank, I havee not watched ANY Network “News” broadcast since 1990, and fully disconected from MSM TV in 2003…first hacking Direct TV, then Bell, and for the last 10 yrs now, straight streaming using Kodi & Stremio, only thing I DO pay for is Sports Net – Amazon Prime.

Am not one to pay for commercialized filth, lies & Communist Propaganda….

  10. CTV = Covidian Television Network

    CBC = Corona Broadcasting Cult

    Global = Globalist News Network

    1. CBC = the C*********’s Butt Coverers

CTV = the C*********’s Tool Vaseliners

  11. All the big Canadian behemoths like Bell and the Banks and the federal government are more like Achilles than Goliath.
They have vulnerabilities, yes due to size, but also due to their myopia and arrogance.
All bullies eventually get whats coming to them and the bigger they are, the harder they fall.

  12. Say what you want about Stephen Harper but when he left town the deficit was basically zero. Then Justin let the deficit balance itself. $500 B in deficits later … and our media are fighting over table scraps.

  13. Look at all the Harper sycophants!
“He didn’t beat us as hard!” they cry!
FIPA, legal immigration, gun laws. He was the GW Bush of Canada, but I figure there are lots of Bushies here.

  14. CTV is doing a good public service by editing out the misinformation, disinformation and malinformation bellowing out from this conference.

    Good job!
