And the ultimate irony? He had moved to Miami … and was just back in SF for a visit. But yeah … on the streets of SF at 2:30 am? Very, very, BAD IDEA. Helpful reminder … it doesn’t matter how much $$$ you have, how well respected, how high tech, etc. … 2:30 am isn’t a good time to be entertaining friends … just ask Paul Pelosi.

BTW … Happy Valley is the most exclusive neighborhood in my little town. The average home price hovers around $5M … meaning NOBODY is safe anymore in CA. And it’s gonna get worse as the Fed keeps destroying the US economy to “control inflation”. The criminal desperation is only going to spiral upward.
And it’s not like you can arm yourself in California.

At the end of that linked twitter thread, there was one comment. It said that (paraphrased) he likely voted for all the Dems and issues that caused his demise. He got what he voted for.
Don’t know if that was true in his specific case. He did leave SF and Kalifornia. But it is true in many other cases and in many other Blue cities.

Imagine what a cashless society … spurred on by apps such as Square, et.al. … does to armed robbers? How pissed off will they be when none of their victims carry cash? It might anger them, and make ‘em get all stabby.
It will eliminate the the robberies where you hand over your wallet, the robber takes off, the incident is over and dramatically increase the instances where a robber takes you at knifepoint to somewhere you can access your funds. I would guess it would lead to more stabbings because the longer someone is at the point of a knife the more chances something bad can happen.
