      1. I posted a similar link from CBC a week or two ago: biodegradable straws are banned because they are single use, I.e. not dishwasher safe, while old fashioned plastic straws are not banned. The government got it right, only because they are incompetent.

        1. It’s worse than that. They’re lunatics. The CBC story doesn’t mention that acetate plastic compostable straws are made of renewable wood pulp, while the old-fashioned plastic kind will now have to be redesigned to withstand being put in a dishwasher 100 times.

          1. Theo the CBC story I linked to said that Stone plastic straws survived 100 dishwasher loads. They probably deleted that fact from this updated story.

    1. It is interesting to note how people get comfortable with the idiotic dicktat (sic).

All that is made came from the earth’s dust.
All of it returns to earth’s dust including the idiot, regardless of the dicktat (sic).
If plastic straws or anything else plastic is buried in a garbage dump for many generations hence to dig it up and check how those, then, there were living, what the hell is the difference?
Most likely it will be there for eternity or until the sun runs out of fuel and blows up into nova.

The whole theater is to occupy little minds with nothingness, lest they start worrying about how they pay for their room and board.

Yeah, put a worm in peoples mind and the worm will do wonders with the help of politicians and media cartel.

    1. Roaddog

Cops & Child Welfare officers acting like SS pigs.
      Low IQ LOWLIFE.

Another facet of our increasingly less free society….and its just not in Connecticut – its everywhere in North America.

    2. Vote Democratic expect crap like what happened to these people getting grilled and arrested for letting your kids walk to the donut store.

    1. Very few commenters here want any kind of connection with reality. Their favourite sources are the ones that tell them what they want to hear, even if it’s palpable untruth (e. g. alabamaloonies or something like it, to which Roy Moore often refers here).

      1. The projection here is absolutely incredible. Almost a movie script
Shortbus and the azzsniffer ( or how I learned to love the MIC after being kicked out of the KKK)

    1. Russia and Russians are not freezing in the cold and they are selling oil and gas no matter what anyone likes to think.

          1. Fine, be in denial if you want. Are you one of those who predicted Europe will not survive this winter?

          2. B-2, I am one who believes that nothing is ever as it seems. I seem to have been right more often than wrong.

          1. Every negative stereotype about orc bestial nature has been proven true over and over again during the last year. By now your attitude is nothing but willful blindness.

          1. So, the hypothermia victims in the Ruϟϟischeschweinen Pideration are actually victims of propaganda, correct?

  1. “…the socio-psychological foundations of socialism is identical to that of the foundations of a state, if there were no institution enforcing socialistic ideas of property, there would be no room for a state, as a state is nothing else than an institution built on taxation and unsolicited, noncontractual interference with the use that private people can make of their natural property. There can be no socialism without a state, and as long as there is a state there is socialism. The state, then, is the very institution that puts socialism into action; and as socialism rests on aggressive violence directed against innocent victims, aggressive violence is the nature of any state.”

    — Hans-Hermann Hoppe, “The Theory of Capitalism and Socialism”

    1. Watcher…

      THAT is an awesome Quote….!
      1,000,000% bang on.
…and CLEARLY evident throughout the Western Hemisphere Today.

      1. I keep saying we need to break up the Canadian Penal Colony called Canada because that is all Canada is a Penal Colony.

        “Best quotes by Frank Zappa
The illusion of freedom will continue as long as it’s profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, they will pull back the curtains, they will move the tables and chairs out of the way and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater.”
        – FRANK ZAPPA

    1. Sold out to whom? Was it the wealthy white virtue-signaling patrons who decided that if they weren’t welcome in the venue which they support so generously, then they would take their donations somewhere their donations would be more appreciated?

I dunno. That’s totally speculation on my part with not an ounce of even hearsay to support my guess.

“Mr. and Mrs. White-Megabucks, we know this is a hot ticket, but we need to ask you to sit this one out. I’m sure you understand.

What’s that? You donate so generously because you get access to the hottest tickets when no-one else can? And you were counting on boosting your non-racist creds? And now you think your support would be more appreciated elsewhere?

      … oh…”

Maybe a small factor. Maybe not at all.

    1. This is the criticism being leveled against the five black police officers who beat Tyre Nichols to death. Rumour has it they were not hired by the police department but by the city as diverse hires, as they did not meet police specifications (which I though were a) can you eat a donut and b) can you drink a coffee).

  2. UkoNazi’s rounding up Ukrainian Sheep for Zelinsky’s Meat Grinder.
He has been demanding the deportation of Ukrainian’s in Foreign Counties like Canada be deported to perform Military Service in Ukraine.
Canada has 1.3M Ukrainians who say they are Ukrainian not Canadian.
Hopefully Trudeau can help them return to fight for Zelinsky.
He spent over 7B helping the UkoNazi’s surely he can round up a couple 100,000 Ukrainians and get them back to Zelinsky to fight. They are not Canadians, but say they are Ukrainian on their census and they all have Ukrainian flags so easy to find them.

  3. If the economy is expanding at 2% and inflation is 6%, isn’t the economy contracting at 4%?

    1. There ya go, bein’ all logical again!

As an aside, occasionally I’ll pick up one of those plastic clamshells housing 6 muffins. It’s probably been a year or more since I last purchased one @ $5.99. Yesterday in the grocery store, same thing, $8.99.

Somebody, again, tell me all about the 50% 6% inflation we’re seeing.

      1. This comes from Statistics Canada.

        https://www150.statcan.gc.ca/n1/daily-quotidien/230131/dq230131a-eng.htm?HPA=1

The economy grew by 0.1% in November, was stagnant at 0.0% for December and is expected to slip into recession in early 2023.

My favorite part is “Public sector continues to grow, in part due to continued high demand for health care services” in big letters and then “The public sector rose 0.3% in November, up for the seventh consecutive month. Public administration (+0.5%) contributed the most to the growth” in little letters. So the main increase in public sector growth was administration and not health care services. Why not just say that?

My Porsche-o-meter says everything is fine. People are holding onto their toys for now. I think Canadians are sleep-walking into a nasty economy.

My son likes to track the ever shrinking grocery store package, where every few months a repacked item is actually cleverly disguised as containing less product and more packaging. At this rate we’ll soon be getting empty boxes.

Amazing what can be done to clean up and colourize old film.

  5. 25 US States sue to stop ESG buffoonery
    —————————————————————-
“This rule is an affront to every American concerned about their retirement account,” Paxton said. “The fact that the Biden Administration is now opting to risk the financial security of working-class Americans to advance a woke political agenda is insulting and illegal.”
