    Never seen such straight roads I could land a small plane in most of that area.

    1. Supposed to keep the end of the stairs from slamming into the ice, when it’s not 20ft away covering the trapdoor.

  2. Played there numerous times as a kid growing up in Weyburn. Doesn’t look like it’s changed at all in almost (cough) 50 years.

    Played in a lot of them in small town Alberta. There are still a few around. They had one in Rimbey that came from Nordegg. When they shutdown the mine and the town closed they took the arena apart and moved it to Rimbey where it served the community for decades.

  5. Back in the day, Dad and best bud used to attend the local hockey games in an unheated basic arena. They were wont to sit just over one the entrances to the arena; said entrance also had an “Exit” sign attached, but they could drum on the boards. When one overly exuberant session resulted in a cracked “Exit” light, Dad and bud did the honourable thing and paid for the repair. From then on, they were much more circumspect in their enthusiasm.
