Riding Mass Transit Is Like Inviting 30 Random Hitchhikers Into Your Car

CBC;

A woman in her 20s has been stabbed multiple times on a Toronto streetcar, police say.

Toronto police say they were called to the area of Spadina and Sussex avenues around 2 p.m.

A suspect was arrested on scene, police said in a tweet. The woman has been taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say they don’t believe the victim and attacker knew one another. […]

The stabbing comes a day after two transit workers were hurt in what police have called a “swarming” assault by 10 to 15 youth on a bus in Scarborough, three days after a TTC operator was shot with a BB gun, and after a string of other recent, violent incidents against passengers.

  1. Yes, but we are not racist.. That’s gotta count for something, somewhere :).. Just not on the TTC.. Its every man, woman, senior or child for themselves.. No cure or magic bullet for a feral population.. Step in a little too well and your Johnny the racist.. Step in and fail and your bleeding out..

  2. “There is a larger societal issue at play here”, the TTC spokesman said.

Got it. Let’s allow the sociologists and human rights advocates handle this crime problem.

    1. One SWF and of course Mr. Howe who the cops have been looking for ages.
A few Mohammadians and your usual 13 % of the population who commit over 80 % of the crime.

  3. News cast had some reporter/bureaucrat? Saying more Government money was needed. I’m shocked, shocked I tell you.

  4. Hitch hiked out of TO in 1971; headed out west to BC and never went back.
BC in the early 70’s was wide open and anyone who wanted a job worked. Say what you liked about Premier WAC Bennett … he new how to utilize jobs and resources. Everything was reasonably rosy.
Not so much now … and then some!
I have always maintained that getting out of Hog town was one of the smarter things I did in life, though I didn’t realize it at the time.

As an aside, I literally did spend my early years in Hog town as that’s where my folks resided when they first immigrated to Canada in the early 50’s.

The smell from the old Canada Packers plant mingled with the coal smoke from the Weston train yards is still a strong memory to this day.

  5. Make no mistake, TO is an effing shit hole. Burlington is my absolute cutoff point. Ask me how I know. Some…not all residents who live in TO have this weird gutter vibe where in their mind, living in Toronto is the same as living on the mean streets of NewYork or Los Angeles with Joe Walsh’s “In the City” as their urban anthem. They wear it as a badge of honour.
Yeah, they’re that effing stupid and deluded.

    It’s all yours Tory…Keep it.

    1. Burlington has gone from solid blue to purple to red with the outflux of Torontonians from the city. It’s why I moved to Mexico.

  6. Obviously, it is time to register the knives, and ban the “assault” knives. Or perhaps replace all the steel knives with plastic…..never mind.

    1. Peter, Plastic knives for stabbings are okay as long as they’re multiple stabbings and not single use!
What ever kind of knife was used in this case was single victim but with multiple stabbings.
I’m beginning to think they want us disarmed not because we might be a threat to the government, but because we’ll be more compliant, and less dangerous victims for the local thuggery!
