Eskimo: No, no, no! Greek-Catholic priests (nor Ukrainians, Ruthenians, Romanians or other “Byzantine” Catholics) are *not* permitted to marry. Nor, by the way are the former Anglican priests who came into the Church with the support of Pope Benedict XVI. You confuse this with the fact that the Eastern Catholic Churches can ordain married men. If the marriage fails or the wife dies, that priest is not permitted to marry again. In extraordinary circumstances, and there is one currently in Halifax, the Archdiocese was permitted, under a special permission from the Vatican, to ordain a married man.
As far as I understand the whole works you mention ordain married men but will not marry ordained men. I educated a Ukrainian Catholic Canadian girl who never had a celibate priest and didn’t understand what I meant when I said priests couldn’t marry.

Many years ago, I read an article that blamed the catholic priestly celibacy requirement for the homosexual abuses by them. Young men, raised in the church, growing up devout catholics find themselves attracted to boys. This conflicted with their devout faith. I was a first communion prep teacher in the US in the early 2000s. Before I could teach, I along with all the teachers and entire lay and religious staff at our large church had to attend two FBI produced courses on abuse awareness and prevention.
