  1. Ha Ha …. my buddy just stopped buying all the juices and pop and cookies and the kids lost weight.

  2. Or …

A dramatic run around the city block for the little chubby snowflakes.

    Followed by some fruit.

  3. I was a little chubby as a 13yo … and am constantly reminded of that by a friends signature in my 1969 8th grade Annual, where he wrote: … ”to a hanging guy, with a hanging body” Yeah, you can bet my three kids got a whoop out of that … constantly. Guess I should have picked more articulate … if not sensitive … friends.

By the time I was 14 and entering HS … I was a svelte athlete. Why? I know it’s amazing … but no more candy and Hostess snack cakes … and serious exercise … every waking hour out of class. It wasn’t “hard” … or “punishment” … it was just being a normal kid … who was playing a sport in every season. Not sitting on his ass anymore. Oh … and girls … yeah great Motivators. Speaking of which … Cool Motivator.

Ironically … released in 1971 … the GREATEST YEAR EVER in music … and the year I turned 14 and slim as a freshman in HS.

    1. Indeed, let puberty be the solution. My experience was similar at the same ages.
That pudgy 13 year old grew 8 inches taller the following year, into a lean machine.
That said, parents need to address the real reasons for the 50 pound overweight 10 year old.
Cut out the chips, sweets and pop, and send them outside, put them into a sports activity early. Stop killing them with kindness.
I survived all those years without a bike helmet, and shockingly, being gone all day. Lived to tell about it, LOL.

      1. Not that I ever sent my own kids biking without helmets … but I survived a slow speed bike accident w/o a helmet. I was being in a hurry to cross a grocery store driveway … against the light … ironically at about 13y’so … there were two lanes and a van closest to me stopped to let me cross … I didn’t see the car coming behind him in the adjacent lane … BOOM! he hit me! His bumper hit my pedal that was in a raised position, so I didn’t break my leg … but he sent me soaring off my bike sideways. I bounced off the pavement like I was made of rubber as I was trying to break my fall. He stopped and was massively apologetic. I was immediately up and on my feet saying “no, it was my fault”.

I said I was fine … and was close to home, so I’d just push my crippled bike home. Then … I looked at his and his girlfriends eyes that were as large as saucers. They insisted they’d drive me to the emergency room and have me checked out. I had … literally … a golf ball sized, perfectly round, knot sticking out of the side of my forehead! It scared the crap out of the driver. I went to the hospital, and it was all fine … just a little concussion protocol … otherwise just waited for the swelling to go down.

Yeah, I coulda been killed. I stopped riding my bike like I OWNED the road. Like the Critical Massholes do …

  4. In my day it was go outside and play.. Not pizza pockets and video games.. Shut in little snowflakes that have no idea how to function but they sure know how to eat.. On the bright side they will all slim down when mommy and daddy die.. The days of free everything will be over..

  5. Obese children are the result of very bad parenting. I would call it child abuse. When mom is staring into her phone and the kids are bugging her to be a mother, she stuffs them will sweets and tells them go play on the computer. Yeah!

If you have kids that are fat and lazy, you are responsible to change that behavior.

Obesity is a BIG drain on the health care system.

The obese, on airplanes … their lard tends to ooze over on your side.

    I hate that.

I hear yah, with all the traveling I’v done, ben there done that a few times, and the stews hated me for the way I dealt with it:-)))

  6. Forcing surgery and drugs on the tubby little bass turds seems like particularly egregious example of fat shaming.

  7. Remember Hannibal Lecter’s mask? It has application for more than cannibalistic mass murderers.

  8. It’s simple…Let food be thy medicine. Real food. You wouldn’t put the wrong fuel in your car/lawnmower. Most people spend more time reading the instruction manual for a new appliance than they do learning about how their own body processes bad food that makes them fat & sick. Take control of your health.
