More needles, more injection sites, more overdoses.
Saskatchewan has seen another record number of lives lost to fatal drug overdoses in 2022, according to preliminary data reported in January.
Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service estimates that there were 421 confirmed and suspected drug toxicity deaths in 2022, an increase from the now-confirmed record-setting 410 deaths in 2021.
It’s almost as though the culture of enablement isn’t working.
Why don’t they serve whiskey at AA meetings?
Pretty soon the government will be giving out free dope to addict’s. I can’t wait for the lawsuits to fly because they overdose on government provided dope.
Already been happening in beautiful Vancouver, for at least the last ten years, probably more. A community ‘health’ nurse I know revealed that ‘they’ were doing it on the QT even prior to the official legalization of said project.

Yeah, ask the people who own all those condos and apartments around there how much they enjoy the ‘safe’ injection sites in their neighborhoods, right?
And whatever happened to the fourth pillar of the Four Pillars strategy: enforcement?
Governments double down on failed policies to assure the public they are wise and considered thinkers.
Thinking that there is some kind of self-cleansing mechanix at work.

Put all of these safe injection sites on Parliament Hill or Harrington Lake.
Addiction to alcohol, cigarettes and prescription meds are evil but heroin, meth, cocaine and the like – hey, here’s more. Leftist thinking. It’s a racket thinly disguised as “harm reduction.”

It is very likely that these excess overdose deaths can be related to the government shutdowns due to covid. You can expect all kinds of ills to appear when you bankrupt companies, people, and force people out of the workforce, possibly forever.
Anybody with basic economic sense should have been able to see that there would be many excess deaths caused by government policy.
If we had any investigative journalists in Saskatchewan this would be a front page story. But Harry Markle garners their attention instead. Much more interesting, just like a shiny bauble.
I was appalled when the Saskatoon City cops hired another 8 cops, an increase of 1.6%. Surely this would have led to more innocent Indigenous people getting beaten up or killed!
Thankfully our compassionate Mayor Charlie Clark has all these 8 cops working at the Harm Reduction facility on 20th St, making sure no harm comes to Indigenous people who are attending a Sacred Needle Ceremony.
