Rich Baris, 10:00 PM Jan 6, 2023: Gaetz joins Boebert to vote present. Paul Gosar voted for Kevin McCarthy. He will be the speaker of the House.

After considerable confusion… to put it mildly, McCarthy has 216 votes after Matt Gaetz abstains.

And a motion to adjourn until Monday has failed and I think there will be fisticuffs!

As another round of voting ensues, another “present” vote, and McCarthy looks to be headed to the speaker’s chair.

  2. The only good news for America would be if McCarthy loses, resigns his seat in Congress and disappears into the LeBrea tar pits.

    You can’t make deals with a POS like McCarthy.

    1. If that thread is true … the 20 conservative Rep’s … who are all Trump populists … are the greatest HEROS our nation has seen since WWII. Songs will be sung to their bravery in the face of wilting criticism from literally EVERY media outlet and their fellow Rep’s with eyepatches and swollen bank accounts funded by Lobbyists.

      Finally … some politicians with backbones … and a LOVE of America … and her beleaguered people. Now … all the WEF Never Trumpers on Fox News can go play with themselves.

    I almost expect the member representing FL-1 to rise before noon on Wednesday to state a privilege motion and not retain McCarthy as Speaker.

I just want them to defund/stop this hiring of 87,000 IRS agents, because you just know the Dems are going to use them as their own personal army of Brownshirts to go after anybody and everybody to the right of Bernie Sanders. I mean it’s bad enough the DOJ/CIA/FBI is now nothing but a bunch of filthy evil communists doing the bidding of Obama/Holder. We don’t need yet another weaponized department hellbent on destroying the country.

  6. Any new Speaker must be chosen as a war leader who will oppose, and wage a war of conquest against the Senate Republicans.
