   1. The Colleges of Physicians and Surgeons across the country need their asses kicked good and hard as well. They have practice voodoo medicine since the beginning of the pandemic and have demanded all doctors do the same.

10. What Pierre Poilievre said here reminds me of Karl opper’s thinking in his very-lengthy book, “The Open Society and its Enemies”. Here is the Cole’s Notes version:

    Karl Popper was a philosopher of science, and stated that the reason science has progressed, during the Enlightenment onwards was that in science for a theory to be accepted it (1) has to be proven through repeated experiments and (2) not be falsified by an experiment.

    So Popper said democracies are superior, since free speech allows for dissidents to bring forth counter-arguments and evidence to disprove prevailing wisdom. Totalitarian environments — eg. Russia, China, sociology departments, the CBC — forbid the introduction of counter-argumentation and counter-evidence. These repressive institutions tend to rot from the inside and make bad decisions.

    One example: Canada’s elites now are supportive of violent criminals in criminal law. Canada’s elites are authoritarian, and do not allow any conservative counter-evidence against the march towards ultra-light sentencing and indifferent law enforcement. Conservatives bring forth counter-evidence that all of this leads to increases in violent crime, but all of this evidence is censored by the authoritarian elites.
