  4. I didn’t hear anything false or misleading in his few minutes. I was a bit shocked the other day when I was buying some groceries. The guy in front of me bought an Edmonton Sun newspaper. It had few pages than the National Enquirer. I would think that there were maybe 10 pages to the entire thing. I couldn’t help but think about back when Ron Collister started it all those years ago and how it was the newspaper in all the lunchrooms all across working Alberta and how insignificant it has become. I don’t have TV and one of the reasons I got rid of it was because of channels like Global running the same weary news stories all afternoon early evening and pretending the news was new and fresh. It was stale and liberal and I decided to cut the cable. I have never been so well informed.

It seems to employ people too stupid to work at CBC where it is 58 minutes of Liberal talking points with 2 minutes of puff pieces in between. If someone asks me what happened in the news after I watched Global, my reply would be, “I have no effing clue”

    I have a TV, because it’s a reasonable quality, reasonably inexpensive, All-In-One ARM computer with lots of I/O (although I’d trade an HDMI port for more USB) that happens to have a TV tuner card as standard equipment.

    If I have an element of discontent with it, it’s that I wish the money that went into the tuner card had gone into the CPU and system drive. It’s not like I use the tuner for anything.

      I cut the chord over 6 or 7 yrs ago.
      First ran a Minix and later got my self a NVidea Shield Pro.
      Using Stremio and at times KODI, I can literally watch WHAT I want – when I want with ZERO Commercials or any other CRAP… I do pay for Prime mind you, but also use it purchase goods.

      I have not watched network propaganda since.
      for news…?? What better way to gauge the day than using SDA..??
      Been doing so I think since 2003/4.

  7. The only correction I would offer Murray’s presentation is that he implied that the reason the media was so corrupt was because of the subsidy. It certainly keeps more leftist drones employed but they were an increasing and integral part of the institutional left decades prior to the Spawn’s coronation. They were almost as left and deranged back when the Spawn’s father was coronated. (Read “Confessions” by Barbara Amiel)

The fact that all of our checks and balances failed.. The fact that the emergency act is designed to be unconstitutional.. The fact that 2/3rds of Canadians are leftists.. Our? media doesn’t need to be on the payroll to be salad tossers.. But it sure helps if they are..

    They could have given a inch to the freedom convoy and had a celebration on their hands for a couple of days and it would have went away all on its own.. Trudeau wasn’t having it.. Lets slander them and beat them down instead.. Everybody knows, nobody cares..

    Authoritarian leftism is just as bad as anything the right could cook up.. Even more so because they believe they can do no wrong..

  9. If you listen to the full debate, you’ll notice that Leftoid Poster Gal, Michelle Goldberg, strongly implies that she still believes that both Trump and the Truckers are guilty. So even when inquiries and/or courts of law fail to convict people (innocent until proven guilty) such journalists still won’t let it go.

    One wonders if her past journalistic mistakes have destroyed the reputations & lives of anyone? If so, do you think she would ever apologize? People with no morals never do.

  10. Matt Taibbi and Douglas Murray kicked ass. The swing in audience vote was the largest ever in Munk debate history. From an initial 48% to 52% against the resolution to 67% to 33% for.

    The question is whether the audience was rating the quality of the debaters or the facts. My guess and hope is that it was the latter. The downtown Toronto audience probably had never heard some of the facts raised by the proponents.

      The anything but neutral moderator kept trying to butt in and control the subject(s) but didn’t manage too much.

      Michelle Goldberg patting herself on the back for meeting the truckers, and finding one who was there because “mushrooms” (whatever the hell that meant).

      Douglas Murray calling Gladwell “Malc” was hilarious.

        Agree on the entertainment value. It was so bad on the “for” side that it looked as though they were trying to throw the debate. Goldberg’s closing was moronic.

        1. Goldberg was out of her depth which wouldn’t have been too hard to accomplish in a parking lot puddle. Gladwell’s closing only confirmed Taibbi and Murray’s affirmation, he couldn’t have done a better job if he’d shot himself in the foot with a 12 gauge.

  11. The Calgary Herald of the Post media today, is approximately 75% extreme socialist propaganda and possibly 25% or less news.

    Still buy it, though they, the Post media or whoever is in charge, are utterly unable to deliver it every day.
    3 days in the past week the paper did not come.
    See they outsource the menial stuff to the lumpen proletariat, so in their extremist thinking, they can’t be held accountable. After all, it’s the other guy.

    In regard to the massive force of Murray’s argument, of those that heard it, half will dismiss it, they don’t know why, other that it’s the thing to do.
    Those that actually need to hear it, will not.

    1. The only thing that is keeping the Calgary Herald somewhat viable is that it include the National Post portion….otherwise, it would die. The Calgary Herald portion is grade school rubbish.

  12. Our local rag, the Victoria Times-Colonist. always puts “Freedom Convoy” in scare quotes. It pleases me that the paper is down to about 6 pages. I predict that home delivery will soon end.

    Major newspapers in Canada are becoming like the CBC – the smaller the circulation, the higher the government subsidy.

    1. That’s what I get for naively expecting CTV to run the original -or at least part of it- without biased editorial content. The original piece is much more representative of the truth. And free of editorial content.

  16. Douglas Murray is a WHITE guy from Britain. He is putting our journalists in danger. Didn’t you see that panel a few days ago? I think every female reporter said her life was in danger (for speaking the truth and not ULTRA MAGA H8).
