  1. Back in high school we had to memorize all the us presidents and all the British monarchs from 1066 on. PITA.
Can’t say either has ever come in handy.

  2. I know this sounds like a punch line to some modern joke but Mom had a subscription to British Heritage magazine (still available). From time to time they would run handy little charts like that. The article I remember best listed all the past monarchs in a neat rhyming poem for children to use as they attempt to grasp the grand sweep of history.

    1. Had access to that book as a kid. I remember only one of the monarchs.
Old King Hal was full of beans
He married half a dozen Queens.

      Yer Welcome.

  3. Thanks for all the work that went into the charts. Sometimes, especially these days, looking back at the violent chaos the Crown was passed through is a more enjoyable way to have your morning coffee.

    1. Delighted to assist! A lot of coffee went INTO these charts, so fitting that you’re reading them with coffee. — Robert F. Graboyes

  4. Thanks so much for posting my “1,200 Years of British Royalty in 5 Charts” essay. You’ve driven a LOT of traffic my way, and I’m grateful for that. Glad your readers are enjoying it and commenting. — Bob Graboyes (RFGcounterpoint.com)
