What’s everyone seeing out there?
GasPriceWizard- Rumours of diesel and gasoline shortages are now playing out in Edmonton, Regina and Winnipeg. Some customers are being cut-off and getting no re-supply of fuel, while others are being placed on “allocation” – rationed deliveries
h/t Scott

Seen no problems yet. Age old reality: 101% of need=glut, 99% of need=rationing. Law only applies for real needs, though. H
In Calgary
Diesel $1.85-$1.92
Reg gas $1.46-$1.52
These FILTHY LIBERALS did this I’m From Centre of the Universe Toronto, or as I say to my Western Friends – I’m from the Middle East (Ontario).
Diesel $2.59
Gas $1.66-$1.74
Never forget what these FILTHY LIBERALS are doing to our Country.

Yeah… let’s talk again when trucks are no longer
able to take semi-trailers from the warehouse to
the grocery store… ‘Nine meals to Anarchy.’
*
Winnipeg last night $2.10
Filled up on the farm Wednesday. Dyed diesel $1.91 +hst. Furnace oil with carbon tax and HST $2.50 ish per liter. Comes out of the same section of the delivery truck. Go figure.
why would you put ‘furnace oil’ in as opposed to the ‘dyed diesel’. I don’t know anyone who pays for furnace oil, they just fill up their homes with their dyed diesel or buy from a farmer
No shortages on Van Island, provided you don’t mind paying between 2.25 and 2.50 per litre.
Looks like Bidinh’s manufactured shortage is having its desired effect.
Bring on the pain, FASTER HARDER! Stupid DeMarxist voters aren’t hurting enough yet!
Hmm, will have to go fill up the trusty D’max at Costco East Hills, East Calgary.
Shall post price later..
Be filling the H2 at UFA later today in the NE after work.
Be nice to do a face to face with you. You seem like an SAD’er I’d like to get to know better. Have a pint with as well. Guinness?
Glacier..prefer LAGER..!!
Have to wait till after the 22nd..off to Ft Hills for a 9 day shift.!
Cheers
Theo
Sounds like a plan. Be safe and say hello to the kids in Ft. Hills. Worked with Morgan there for 3 winter seasons.
Today, Hamilton, $2.35/L diesel. Monday it was $2.10. Think I’ll go fill some jerry cans.
Dude, we’re neighbours. I also extend the offer of an SDA pint.
Found you a suuuper bargain Daniel, diesel at Pioneer on #3 highway in Cayuga was -only- $2.19.6/L. Such a deal. And hey, you only have to drive 40 minutes to get there. ~:D
The one I saw at $2.35.9 was on #6 in Mt. Hope. Boo Hamilton! >:(
What’s the price on the reserve? If you’re willing to drive to Cayuga might as well head to Oshweken.
There are a few in Guelph at $2.22 – 2.23, but most are around $2.35.
Until recently I was very happy to drive my diesel SUV, around 8L/100 for a big heavy 3 litre. Not so happy now.
My big gripe is aviation fuel, $3.20 at my home airport (Kitchener)
Might be time to get a turbo prop.
Jet A1 is much cheaper .
Are small planes fairly fuel efficient? I know little about aviation.
Not generally. Only the smallest single-seat, slick litt;e airplanes will do well. The typical lightplane such as a Cessna 172, four seats and 160 HP, will get about 17 miles per gallon in cruise flight. It takes a lot of power to fly.
Seat-miles per gallon is the better way to measure it. Airliners use a lot of fuel since they have hundreds of thousands of horsepower, but they carry a lot of people at high speeds, making them far more efficient than a small airplane. It’s the business jets—private jets—that are the real fuel gobblers. You know, like those 400 private jets flown into Egypt by the world’s elites, to discuss more and better ways to get the rest of us to use less fossil fuel, or none at all.
Wow. 100LL is $5.40 a gallon down here in Florida, $3.20 a litre is around nine bucks US a gallon!
Paid 1.239\L gasoline Red Deer UFA
My “2-day” Amazon deliveries are getting very sketchy. Few are on time. I’m being defrauded by Amazon
Looked up nyquil on amazon ca.. 45.00 a bottle ..Reg. 13/14…. No kids tylenol at Amazon.com US version.. None on Amazon.ca.. Text my med friend in Newport Beach.. No shortage, but not available Amazon .com.. Something hinky with this.
Costco: Calgary East Hills: 1.779/L
But am going to buy a UFA Membership Card. $5.00.
Prices supposedly 18-20 cents a litre cheaper..!! There’s one inTown @ 619 Moraine RD NE.
Be advised, the GST is added on after, at UFA, but most of the time it is cheaper than most other stations. If you have a farm account, it’s even cheaper and you can activate the marked/dyed fuel pumps.
I’ve noted there are certain people on GasBuddy the erroneously report prices at certain UFA, for whatever reason. Ask a person that’s just fueled up or pump a small amount and check the receipt, if the printers are working.
Haven’t seen any issues in Edmonton so far.
Additional info: GasBuddy reports that, as of 1 hour ago, Costco at Winterburn Rd has regular at 139.9 and premium at 151.9.
Diesel around town right now starts at around 180.9 and tops out around 200.9.
I guess it would be racist for Toronto to get no gas?..
Diesel shortages posted north of Whitecourt AB. Whitecourt had rationed last week.
@Steakman – I have been a UFA member for 17 years. In the last 6 months is has become a pain in the ass to get fuel at the local UFA – confused soccer mom’s and senior citizen’s causing chaos and line ups. All City slickers.
I’m a trucker from BC, company driver mind you, and I take my three jerry cans with me to Alberta every week. I paid 1.23.9 at the UFA in Hinton AB last week. Granted, I’ve seen it as “low” as 1.74.9 in BC, but I’ve also seen it as high as 2.05.9 per litre.
I’m saving around .50 a litre! Got a UFA membership so I can can get gas 24/7. And yeah, there’s the .05% GST, but it’s still better than getting raped by a gas nozzle in BC!
Oh and my boss wants us Alberta guys to fuel up his trucks in Alberta as much as possible. Can you blame him?
Since home heating oil and diesel are very similar, I suspect that the onset of winter has caused the shortages as the demand for heating fuel rises. And the inability to meet demand is due to the federal obsession with climate change and consequent shaming of oil and gas companies, resulting in investment being pulled, fewer wells drilled to replace exhausted wells, and some companies leaving Canada altogether. Another prominent factor is the Biden administration’s cancellation of pipelines and drilling leases, making things really short in the US and increasing demand for Canadian product, which drives up the cost for all of us. What happens in Washington sure doesn’t stay there.
No mystery to it at all.
