Millions of dollars in foreign aid to Kenya have been linked to fraud following an audit of the Department of Foreign Affairs, which found that corruption was common practice due to “uneven regulatory enforcement.”
According to the Audit of Management Practices at Missions: Nairobi, the Embassy’s $12.5 million annual budget revealed “inconsistent application of established processes across programs which weakens overall control effectiveness and oversight reliability.”

Inadvertently, aid sometimes helps those it’s supposed to.
Really – REALLY – getting sick of all this money laundering posing as “foreign aid”. The worst part (other than pissing away our tax dollars) is it just exacerbates the problems they profess to want to solve, by further solidifying the control of the corrupt leadership over their populations.

I am so DONE with the Federal government. Why in God’s name are Canadians giving foreign aid? The government has to borrow so much money and then turns around and gives a percentage to third world countries in Africa and other “less than special” parts of the world. And, when I found out that we also give foreign aid to China while they are busy trying to take over our country – farmlands, technology, manufacturing, just beggars belief.
Canada is no longer a serious country. I am glad that I only have between 5-10 years left before I shuffle off this mortal coil.

Has all the money and help sent there since then done nothing? Where did the years of money go? I don’t mind helping to solve a problem, but like every other “problem” in the world, if you actually fix the “problem”, the money stops.

Some of the richest dudes in the world live in Africa. They got all that money drilling wells for Whitey.
That’s why it costs $20 million bucks to drill a 200′ water well in rural Kenya. Or pave a road, grade an airstrip, put in a sewer… you get the picture.

You gotta remember that the primary function of the bureaucracy is to look after themselves.
If some good spills around they will make sure that it is mopped up.

Hmmm…it’s enough to make a person wonder if foreign aid is mainly a front for laundering taxpayer money into politicians bank accounts. Surely not because that would make the political class look indistinguishable from organized crime syndicates.
