    1. The leftist bent really takes care of whatever minor guilt I usually feel when I see a fund request from a useful site. The near communist Guardian has some great photography, and I like stiffing them.

    3. There are things Wikipedia is good for, and things it isn’t good for. Any science not connected to something controversial- probably good (I work in the animals section, we tend to be low-key and competent). Anything political, religious, current events, or otherwise controversial (including entirety of rainbow mafia)? Take it with a grain of salt and check the sources. A lot of stuff that can attract fans- sports, games, shows, etc- can be overly-detailed but is probably meant in good faith.

    1. You know, the farting part at least actually does count as breaking news, now that I think about it.

  12. Reader Tip: Keep your head down when visiting Ottawa.

    Two recent anecdotes about Ottawa cops:

    Eastern outskirts of rural Ottawa, a guy was driving at night and an oncoming car had its hi-beams on so the driver flashed him with his own to let him know.
    Sure enough the car he flashed was a cop car who proceeded to do a U-turn, put on his flashing lights and stop the driver.
    Pulled over, the angry cop told the driver, “I stopped you because you blinded me with your lights!”
    The driver responded, just as angrily, “You blinded me with yours first!”
    The cop walked back to his car and left.

    An Ottawa man was returning from his local bar, walking down the one-way street he lives on, McLeod, as a cop car came driving towards him going the wrong way. He gave the cop a WTF? look with some body language as much to himself as anything but sure enough the cop car screeched to a stop, did a U-turn and pulled up beside the walking man.
    “You have a problem?!” he yelled at the pedestrian.
    “You were driving the wrong way,” replied the local resident.
    The indignant cop responded, “I’m on my way to an emergency!”
    The resident laughed, “Oh yeah and you stopped to tell me that?”
    The stupid, frustrated asshole cop drove away.

    Just do a search for Ottawa cops and add “strip search” or “dismissal” or “drugs” or whatever.
    These guys are the Arsehole Brigade.

      He should now raise taxes on New Yorkers.

      Plus he should get the Governor to raise taxes for all of New York State.

  25. Ok I’ll go first on the coffee tips.

    I like bold coffee and I drink it straight up. No coffee flavored drinks for me. I like pumpkin pie and have never had pumpkin spice anything.

    Coffee press is the way to go. I carry an Aero Press and a hand grinder. Best freshest coffee one cup at a time.

    Yeah I’m a coffee nerd.
