How Hendrix got HIS version of All Along The Watchtower out of Dylan’s absolutely brilliant original is simply astounding. It’s called artistry. It’s called talent. It’s called improvisation. And it’s called production perfection. It’s also the talent of the artists surrounding Hendrix, such as his young 21yo WHITE drummer. This Hendrix tune is in my own personal top 10 rock songs of all time. It’s simply brilliant. And meaningful.

      1. “it’s called production perfection” When you read about the history of the production of the record Hendrix spent a lot of time working on it getting that imitable soaring crescendo of sound right. Hendrix first recorded the song in 1968 and for 54 years others have tried to replicate that sound without much success.
In 1995, Dylan described his reaction to hearing Hendrix’s version: “It overwhelmed me, really. He had such talent, he could find things inside a song and vigorously develop them. He found things that other people wouldn’t think of finding in there. He probably improved upon it by the spaces he was using. I took license with the song from his version, actually, and continue to do it to this day.
Another time Dylan said: “I liked Jimi Hendrix’s record of this and ever since he died I’ve been doing it that way . Strange how when I sing it, I always feel it’s a tribute to him in some kind of way”.

  2. You have seen enthusiastic ready to fight russians at the borders with Finland and Georgia during the last two days. Here is the border with Mongolia: https://www.the-sun.com/news/6277405/russians-escape-putins-call-fight-ukraine/ (going back to their cultural roots)
    And Kazakhstan: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/a-movie-theater-gave-fleeing-russians-somewhere-to-sleep-after-putin-announced-a-military-mobilization-in-his-war-against-ukraine/ar-AA12gj2i
Damn it is almost as if russians supported the war as long as only non ethnic russians were drafted to die for their prison of nations.

      1. Please do not associate Michael Moore with manure. Every government action to restrict mineral fertilizer increases the value of my barnyard’s contents. I will not stand for its use being besmirched by loose associations.

  3. Wondering about the source of the Top Song list of each decade.
Its always subjective, I know, but that Kiss Me song was probably super popular with 15 year old girls. Nothing wrong with that, but…

    1. I know what you mean. Did you know that Bohemian Rhapsody was the best rock song ever, according to some survey?
It pays not to pay too much attention to this stuff. Kind of fun, though.

Juthtin’s underpants got them a sperm, urine, blood and stool sample.
And not all of those were his.

  4. L – Hammering the public in downtown Vancouver or shelter-in place and work from home or be a digital tourist. No info. on whether the attackers were wearing masks or were vaccinated.
Meanwhile, physicians/nurses who have declined the experimental genetic jabs are forced
to submit or lose their licence to practice medicine. Maybe, a passerby has a first aid kit,
if you’re hammered in the head or sliced and diced in a machete attack.

Tourism brochures to be updated: “culturally enriched performance art in the downtown”.

Woman arrested after random hammer attack in downtown Vancouver

Shaundrea Janette Lynxleg has been charged with assault with a weapon and remains in custody.
“On Tuesday, during a mayoral debate ABC Vancouver mayoral candidate Ken Sim said that there were four stranger assaults a day in the city.

Candidate Fred Harding from NPA pointed to the machete attack against a food delivery driver in Gastown two weeks ago.”
