It’s not even a pistol. Under US law, it’s just a chunk of plastic.
With some machining it takes the form of a Glock look-alike pistol frame. At that point it becomes a firearm under US law. Not that it can shoot anything. Buy some Glock internals, a Glock barrel, a Glock slide and a magazine and it will fire. It will usually then require a bit of tweaking and adjustment so that it doesn’t jam up in some way after each shot.

If he had imported blocks of aluminum, which can be machined into AR-15 receivers, would he have been similarly guilty of a crime?
One can easily make an old fashioned revolver.
Just need some mechanical aptitude, metal, drill, file , hacksaw, welder, taps and a special hob to put the rifle in the barrel plus a high temp heat source to harden and temper certain parts.
A shotgun is even easier.
It’s the ammo that is the problem in obtaining or the ingredients to make that ammo.
It can be done but it is tedious.

It has absolutely nothing to do with Public Safety, as the story above points out. Every day in the newspapers and the media there are stories about repeat gun crime offenders being treated with kid gloves in courts in regards to punishment for the use of guns in criminal Acts. The liberal Minister of Justice, lambretti has already reduced criminal sentences for gun crimes in Canada,all the while the Liberals all talk about doing something about gun crimes. I will say it again, it has nothing to do with Public Safety but it has everything to do with attacking and punishing the Liberal Party of Canada’s political enemies, the conservatives.
Lets be honest, we don’t need new laws, we need the existing laws enforced:
of 6453 charges for firearms and weapons related offences in 2018, 101 resulted in convictions, 638 took a guilty plea before trial, and 167 took a guilty plea at trial, or roughly 14%. Over 4000 of the charges either with withdrawn, or the crown provided a stay of proceedings. (178 resulted in acquittal)
An useful metric would be for the local police to report the number of charges they laid with the number of convictions, because they often charge the kitchen sink when putting out press releases.
It is very plain to see that the Turd IS attacking legal gun owners and not criminals. Yes, we are 95% voting conservative, so we are not a part of the Turds base. The main issue is that there is a symbiotic relationship between the liberals and criminals. The criminals assist in keeping the public fearful and desiring of “the government should do something” therefore growing government. However, they also know that WHEN the crap does hit the fan, if a civil war breaks out, and it very well might, then we gun owners would be giving our spare guns and ammo to our neighbors to help wage that fight. Therefor, not only are we NOT his base. but from his perspective, we are the threat to him and his base. There is also the fact that you can’t rule over an armed population without their approval and consent, so it makes it more problematic to introduce his draconian plans, when a third of the population is armed.
This man is a hero he is getting Canadians the firearms they need. He should never have been in jail
