  1. “That’s a tough question” is never going to play well. It sounds like he doesn’t know.

He should have said “Seattle’s crime rate is fairly typical for major U.S. cities, but we plan to do much better.”

  2. “The road to hell is paved with good intentions” is still something that hasn’t sunk into the liberal elites running the places, so off to hell they go. However, every time a deep dive on these lavishly funded programs to deal with problems is done, there is a politically connected grift going on, one could also say they are corrupt.

    1. take out good and add liberal or can we really suppose there is no difference between liberal and good in these times

  3. Better yet: What East Coast and West Coast have in common? Marx. Or to be more accurate: neo-marxism + St Greta syndrome or eco-marxism.

    1. Don’t forget lovely Detroit.
I remember my first visit there , not by choice , in the early eighties.
Took a day trip from Windsor after visiting the rellies.
Rode through the outer ring on the way to downtown.
Burned out houses, abandoned factories, torched upside down cars littering deserted streets.
      Looked like a war zone.
Had to gas up and was greeted by a self fill station. Went to turn on pump, no go. Get called over a speaker to go and prepay. Stare at cashier through inch thick bulletproof glass who motions below to put money into a bank type drawer. Then gas turns on.
Reason I was there , on Sunday, was there to look for booze for the wife.
Sundays back then , for you younguns, didn’t allow shopping in Canada.
She is a Newfie , so.

Every booze place I went to had many beggars outside , not the friendliest looking, finally found one in the heart of the rundown industrial section of town, no one milling around. Went in with the wife and saw only one person there, the white owner behind again , bulletproof glass. Was in there no more than 10 minutes.
Get outside and find car surrounded by your typical hoods . Started hassling me for cash. Said I only had Canukie bucks, they said no problem , we will take it.
I am glad I had the shitbox car and was dressed ratty with no jewelery or watches, likewise with the wife, they let us be and we were on our way.
Did my thing and got out of Detroit quickly back to Windsor.

      Breezed through Customs.
Never been so glad to be back home again.

      1. John, back in 1978 a US company I was working for offered me a management position in the US, a very good promotion. I had to be based out of Detroit. It was not very nice then, as now, and I just said thanks but no thanks. I wouldn’t have moved my family there for three times the money promised. I loved the America that was. I had/have family and interests there for decades, although now I have given up almost everything because, “covid” don’t ya, know.

          1. At one time they had 1.85 million residents before the wealthiest and most unionized black people on earth rioted and scared the shit out of everyone including most black people. They have 639,000 now with only 61,000 white. They are still crash diving having lost 10.5% since 2010. They lost 93,000 blacks and gained 5,000 whites in the last 10 years.

          2. Scar, you inadvertently put your finger on the root cause of all American cities decline. First the democrats come to power then the gingers move in.

  4. I’m hoping a common calamity of earthquakes so large that 3000 miles away it spills my can of beer.
Cracking my first between 5 and 6pm EDT.

  5. The left turns everything it touches to complete and utter shit. Leftists are the enemies of western civilization and should be treated as such.

  6. “Seattle is on a trajectory to be one of the safest cities in the country”

Sure. Don’t know exactly what that means but you do you. Harrell is every bit as radical as his fellow Seattle councillors which tells me Seattle voters aren’t at all serious about improving their lot. He’s currently pursuing an anti-2A policy prohibiting guns in the fair city because you know, one more firearm restriction will surely bring criminals to heel. Yeah, right.
Hobbling private citizens the ability to defend themselves will be the coup de grace and where criminals will be given free rein.
    Liberals are insane.

  7. Surprised Vancouver BC, isn’t on that list…or Victoria,

Cant tell me there ain’t no Fentanyl induced Crime laced homeless Kampfs out there..??
    It’s the Lower MAOland ffs…..has to be….no.??

  8. All four are favorite holiday spots for my estranged idiot lefty sister in Vancouver. Add in Hawaii too. She thinks the U.S. is the Great Satan (especially during the tyrannical reign of the Demon Trump), but it’s her automatic go-to place for holidays and shopping. I used to wonder about those oblivious English tourists who enjoyed holidaying in the Third Reich during the 30s; now I know just the sort of people they were.
